Julian Assange put the security of America at risk. That traitor should be punished accordingly. So should Snowden.
I can't understand why i am the in the minority on this issue. You guys should be ashamed of yourself.

They should be rewarded a huge reward, then the innocent people they didn't protect, while gallantly exposing corruption.
Should sue him for what they got.

Getting info outed by one of those two should have been a Civic Duty. I know I wouldn't have had a problem with them doing what they did in the context they did it in.
Unless they were part of the wrong doing, why are they so butt hurt. It should be a badge of honor to make History.
This was only Transparency out of all of the Transparency talk in the last 15 years. This was the only time something transparent actually happened.

Snowden at least showed that the government was performing unreasonable searches on innocent people's information in violation of the Constitution, and lying about it publicly at the same time.

For that, he should get a medal.

Has anyone here heard of James Bamford? Really, just wondering.

Give him a participation trophy then hang him. That covers all bases.

With Snowden, I feel like he did the right thing for America.

Those big government bastards were going to take away all our privacy in secret. The longer it stayed secret, the less privacy we'd have in this country. He exposed big government spying on all of us, put some real break pedals on their privacy invasion claws due to attention it got. Those government fucks didn't ask us if we want to be spied upon like that, they just did it in secret (knowing full well it wasn't kosher with us peasants). Citizens rights should trump big government desires.

Snowden is a hero.

julian assange is an autralian citizen, who is not a US Resident....

He owes us nothing and is not in our jurisdiction.

Julian is an australian citizen in england in an ecuadorian embassy (most likely dead now or black-op-kidnapped drugged to keep his dead-mans-switch on). How can he be a traitor to the USA? You gonna "drone him"?

Because, the fact that you feel less safe from what Assange did is an irrational position. He's provided more transparency into government than anyone in the past 100 years. I personally, like seeing the inner corrupt workings of the system exposed. As far as Snowden goes, I feel the same way. I fail to see how someone who informed the public about a massive civil rights violation is a traitor.

Maybe.
But if you are going to give him a pass ( ignore the law ) it opens up the door to forget about 13 million illegal alien lawbreakers.
You either have laws or you don't.
So it's up to the american jury to decide if he's guilty, and the punishment.
If it was that good for america, then they would probably give him a pass and find him guilty with time served in russia as punishment.
But he is the one that has to come back and take that chance.

While humorous on the surface, it needs a top 10 list of what private information is given for each contestant.
Then a serious evaluation can be made to determine if Assange and Zuckerberg are on the same page...

Has anyone here heard of James Bamford? Not until now but thanks - been doing some research on him since I saw this.

Never knew the present day NSA was a left over from Eisenhower but given the times not surprising is started there and grew and grew and grew. Also interesting to see some of the strong arm tactics and threats used against him over the years including Reagan issuing a new Executive Order to make it possible to reclassify documents.

More credit is due as well to people who testified and brought to light the Church Committee hearings. Not surprising are the allegations of treasonous activity from those hearings - the tried and true method to discredit anyone who exposes the government's secrets.
