  So the govt. is not responsible for a law/executive order it enacts if the law/executive order is enacted in response to a special request? By your logic, Congress and the White House share no blame for the stupid home buyer tax credit since it was enacted pursuant to the request of the NAR.

  Obama is paid to lead. If you are going to defend his xmas tree tax proposal on the grounds that he was simply taking orders from a special interest group then I think you are an enabler of the shitty democracy we currently have.
