And the original thread will replace the rude comment with a link to the new thread, with a note like "Rude comment taken outside". I should be able to have that working tomorrow.

Challenge... yes, I like it. How will that work exactly? Someone who is offended by a comment might click "Take It Outside" and this results in the comment being moved to a parallel but rude thread in the Outside forum, and the commenter getting notified. But what then would the "Back Down" and "Stand and Fight" options do?

I think it would be more interesting if it was the challenged... helps to ensure enthusiastic participation by both parties, I think. Also, is there any way to make the 'Challenged by' link a different color... like flashing red?

Now for any comment in a "polite" forum (all the others except this one) you can challenge that comment. If the challenge is accepted, that comment becomes a new thread on this forum. For now, the title is just the first few words of the comment. That was the easiest thing to do, and I'm lazy. The challenged guy (the author of the comment) owns the thread, so he can change the title if he wants. Red and blinking. Great idea! I was just going to do bold but why not go whole hog?

If people get really rude in one of the forums, Patrick can post the comment "take it outside," while jettisoning the previoius comment or several comment to the outside forum. And then Patrick posts another comment outside saying, "that's right bitches (assuming the people involved were men), you can continue this out here."
