Obama beats everyone in his strongest showing since April. Newt would lose by double-digits while Romney and Ron Paul are both 7 points behind.

Like it or not, national polls almost always correctly predict the outcome of an election. The only exceptions are extremely close races, and Rasmussen. People don't remember it now, but in 2009 the Pubes were crowing about taking both the House and the Senate in a landslide.

Again.......it's not even close. I think all the rational people here realize that Republicans cannot win the White House without Florida. Whatever happens in Florida, both Ohio and Pennsylvania are going to swing a bit more to the blue side giving Obama an easy win. For all practical purposes, no other states are in play. I will also mention that other polls show a statistical tie between Romney and Obama in Florida, but Gingrich doesn't have a chance in any poll from anyone. This pretty much confirms what most people are saying, which is that Mitt Romney has a chance to beat Obama but Newt Gingrich has no chance whatsoever and will basically guarantee Obama a 2012 win. So I guess it's GO NEWT!!!

I don't follow the logic. The problem with Ron Paul is Ron Paul, not some conspiracy to keep him out of the White House. Support doesn't grow if he becomes the nominee, it shrinks because people find out what he's really about.

None of us has a crystal ball to predict what events will happen in those 10 months to change minds of people being polled today. But, here is another problem with polling. I reached voting age a loooong time ago. I have been called for a political poll exactly once in all those decades. Statistically, shouldn't I have been contacted more than that? The polling does not catch a representative sample of voters. Also, on that one and only time I was asked to participate, my poll answers were thrown out. The questions are worded in such a way that I could not choose a legitimate answer to one of the compound questions. I told the polster that I did not agree with any of the available answers that question, so I was choosing not to answer it. She said that she could not submit an incomplete set of answers and hung up on me. The polls are going to be wrong. Count on it.
