PUT ME IN CHARGE . . .
Put me in charge of food stamps. I'd get rid of Lone Star cards; no cash
for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho's, just money for 50-pound bags of rice and beans,
blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away. If you want
steak and frozen pizza, then get a job.
Put me in charge of Medicaid. The first thing I'd do is to get women
Norplant birth control implants or tubal legations. Then, we'll test
recipients for drugs, alcohol, and nicotine. If you want to reproduce or use
drugs, alcohol, or smoke, then get a job.
Put me in charge of government housing. Ever live in a military barracks?
You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair.
Your home" will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be
inventoried. If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your
own place.
In addition, you will either present a check stub from a job each week
or you will report to a "government" job. It may be cleaning the roadways
of trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you.
We will sell your 22 inch rims and low profile tires and your blasting stereo
and speakers and put that money toward the "common good.."
Before you write that I've violated someone's rights, realize that all of
the above is voluntary. If you want our money, accept our rules. Before
you say that this would be "demeaning" and ruin their "self esteem," consider
that it wasn't that long ago that taking someone else's money for doing
absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self esteem.
If we are expected to pay for other people's mistakes we should at
least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices. The current system
rewards them for continuing to make bad choices.
AND While you are on Gov't subsistence, you no longer can VOTE! Yes,
that is correct. For you to vote would be a conflict of interest. You will
voluntarily remove yourself from voting while you are receiving a Gov't
welfare check. If you want to vote, then get a job.

Yeah, because the life experience of 21 year olds is where I go to get all my life tips.
This is savagery.
Don't look at a note like this for life lessons, look to one of the many countries that are doing well and solving their problems of personal security and poverty. Yes, they exist.
This might make someone who was bullied in high school feel better but a quick glance at public policies around the world shows this note to be completely asinine.

Some solution. If you happen to lose your job then the government rounds you up, ships you off to a gulag for forced sterilization, and puts you on a chain gang.
HINT: 21 year olds have been living off their parents for there entire lives. They aren't exactly models of self-sufficiency

Put me in charge of tax payer funded roads. The first thing I'd do is remove signs, signals, and highway patrol. Driving on toll free roads should be a Mad Max type experience. If you want pot hole free roads that don't end suddenly and without warning off a cliff, get a job!
Put me in charge of tax payer funded protection. The first thing I'd do is stop enforcing laws against violent crime. No more free police protection, instead you need personal body guards to go grocery shopping. If you want to avoid gang butt rape by mobs of angry Negroes, get a job!
Put me in charge of tax payer funded building inspections. The first thing I'd do is end building codes. Going into a public building should be a life changing experience as shit falls apart on you and you watch people get brained by falling beams. If you want to go into safe buildings, get a job!
Put me in charge of tax payer funded judicial systems. The first thing I'd do is close all courthouses. Want to resolve a dispute? Engage in a centuries long generational blood feud until yours or your enemies lineage is erased from the face of the earth. If you want private dispute resolution, get a job!

- Having a job (why should you be able to vote on tax policy if you're paying taxes?!)
- Driving a car (why should you be able to decide how roads get paid for if you're the one who uses them?)
- Having children (why should you have a say in how schools are run when your children benefit from the policy)

Love the fact they espouse Freedom of Speech.
But similar to recent religious attacks. " Who speaks for Islam" ? Without focus on any feasible solution(s) and posturing against those guilty of receiving stolen property while ignoring the burglars, allows the defense to sit back and let them fall divided.
They need to filter out all but the most important issues. I understand they plan to Occupy San Quentin soon. What is this going to do for their credibility ?

That's easy, there are many countries around the world that have no -- or close to it -- welfare system. Rather than building a time machine to visit the US pre-1930s, you can just visit the slums in these countries and witness first hand how people in poverty live with no social safety net.

I've been to South East Asia a few times. I have no idea what their social welfare system is, but I can tell you what I saw. I saw people with laundry shops set up, food cart vendors, people "hawking" things on the beach, motorcycle taxi drivers, etc. I didn't make an effort to visit the "slums", but I can tell you, more people SEEMED to be trying to make it. Even though there was a lot of poor folks, I didn't see a lot of crime and never felt in danger. Crime was dealt with VERY harshly where I was. But then again, this was a tourist area and probably not representative of the whole.

Why don't democrats highlight articles like this as examples of Republican idealism during campaign season? The sad thing is I received this as an email forward titled "brilliant" from a white, middle-class girlfriend of mine and she LOVED it. This is how lots of midwest republicans feel deep down. They'll say "relax, it's just meant to be funny!" But you can tell they're thinking "yeah - tell it like it is, sister". And some of the blatantly racist and stereotypical email forwards about President Obama that I've gotten make me nuts...again, why don't the democrats get hold of that disgusting propaganda and splash it all over the news and hold these people accountable for their secret beliefs? Surely, it would enlighten and motivate the masses if they knew!??! I'm probably just another bleeding heart.

A long time ago, there was an earnest plea from a "FAMILY with Lymes Disease." Most of the material contained in the family's blog appealing for help is contained in the "Put me in charge" e-mails. As the multitude of comments about this e-mail attest, this 21 year old female either "has a great plan!" or has been bashed around for that plan and it's solutions. This lady's opinion ONLY agrees with a newspaper article in the Waco Tribune-Herald.
The author of this opinion letter, not a real plan with real solutions, has already identified himself as Alfred W. Evans in his letter to the Waco Tribune-Herald and is also posted in this discussion. He also wrote to TheVeteransVoice.com and SILENCEDOGOOD2010'S BLOG, which was reposted on BlackShards, and thanked them for posting his letter. "I googled “Put me in charge” and found it on many sites. Thanks again for getting what I consider common sense out to the people." This 21 year old female is receiving credit for your plan and your solution, Mr. Evans. Most of the heat and derogatory remarks are directed toward her and not to you, Mr. Evans. Do you care that this is happening? Why do you allow this to continue on this way? Better her than you? Some military operations use intelligence and deception to accomplish their mission. Food for thought. More on this further down below.
