Another example of Obama succeeding on the world stage where Bush failed so miserably. Excellent operation, excellent work, Leon Panetta is turning out to be the best defense secretary in decades.

Kudos to seal team 6. (who else)

9 Somali assholes were killed in the operation. No casualties or injuries on our side.

Yes sir, he has gotten a lot better at using, supporting, and managing his military. He has beefed up the VA budget to better support the injured veterans, put Michelle out to help the military spouses, and has a plan to get out of this Afghanistan mess.

He keeps this up, this military moderate is voting for him. I cringe when I hear Mitt and Newt talk about Iran.

Then why is the vast majority of the military hard-core Republicans still?

Do you have any statistics or evidence for this? (not sure why I'm asking because we both know the answer)

Never mind, I did it myself. Shrek, I can't imagine a bigger fail but I'm sure you'll work on it:

The Military Times released its annual poll of active-duty service members, and the results showed something virtually unprecedented: a one-year decline of 10 percentage points in the number of military personnel identifying themselves as Republicans. In the 2004 poll, the percentage of military respondents who characterized themselves as Republicans stood at 60%. By the end of 2005, that had dropped to 56%. And by the end of 2006, the percentage of military Republicans plummeted to 46%.

    And even more recently:

Much of the shift appears to have occurred only very recently, with the percentage of troops identifying themselves as Republican dropping nine percentage points from 2008 to 2009 and the percentage of those calling themselves independents increasing 10 points over the same period.

Hard core Republicans my ass. Shrek when are you going to stop making shit up?

How can you say the military is "hard core" Republican when they mostly donate to Ron Freaking Paul?

It's so much fun listening to draft dodgers talking about war. Rather than go to Vietnam, Romney had the Mormon Church get him a deferrment so that he could spend time in France living in a mansion with servants.

Ron Paul has the same foreign policy views as Obama. Actually, his foreign policy views are way to the left of Obama's. Which means that members of the military have LIBERAL foreign policy views.

Shrek don't you ever tire of losing? Here we go again:

Shrek: "The vast majority of the military hard-core Republicans"
Iwog: "No they aren't, here's proof"
Shrek: "bullshit, since it speaks nothing of military support for Obama. Nice try with the bait and switch."

    I'm mean seriously.........ROFLOL

Well, the military has the view that they'd rather get paid sitting on their ass here in CONUS than actually defending Truth, Justice, and Freedom out in the field.

Understandable, but when the budget axe comes they turn pro-war again real quick.

If his accent was any good it would be a reason to vote for him (only really smart people can speak a foreign language well).

But his accent was the most atrocious thing I've ever heard. Man's a fucking idiot.

Shrek, you are talking out your anus on this one. I am here on the ground in the military. There has been a huge shift from Republican to Democrat. Mostly because we have seen the corruption, death, misery, and imperialist agenda first hand.

Yeah, what are you talking about?

This is what they are doing now under new direction.

By late 2009, CJTF-HOA's mission had been transitioned to a more indirect one from its initial counter-terror focus, with CJTF-HOA not playing any active role in terms of counter-terrorism operations. As a result, CJTF-HOA's contribution to the fight against violent extremism consisted of working with the individual militaries of partner nations to build their own capacity to confront these problems. Rather it focused largely on security capacity-building, fostering regional security cooperation-type missions.

Umm... yeah... I am not sure what you are talking about as well.

Are you saying that the hostages should not have been rescued?

But, anyone who is familiar with Conservative vs Liberal neuroscience study and the neurological makeup required to successfully become a Navy SEAL; would know that the brains of Liberals (on average) are better suited to perform the job of a SEAL (or any soldier in general).

Why, even in your fantasy world, would you want a military where the vast majority is hardcore conservative?

Even those unfamiliar with the neuroscience, but have worked with/known military elite -- and the not so elite, see the elites are a far less fearful/radical bunch; they tend to be moderate or even apolitical.

And, as I said elsewhere, why did Paul fail miserably in South Carolina, home of a very large (non-Paul voting) veteran constituency? Exit polls show that that support is imaginary.

I did find it a little odd that none of the press reports mentioned Black Hawk Down, even in passing. Glad to see the local clans viewed the operation as positive (at least from press reports).

When Iwog says 'here we go again' he means "here I go again...deliberately misquoting you or quoting you out of context because I am a Troll", apparently.

Anyone who gives a shit probably wants to know how you were misquoted, but you're not going to tell them are you.

These surgical strikes are becoming a trademark of the Obama administration and I quite approve.

    - Osama Bin Laden
    - Anwar al-Awlaki
    - Somali Pirates on several occasions

If it becomes necessary to eliminate Iranian nuclear capacity, I'm now convinced it will involve a very well executed pinpoint attack on key targets and will involve little loss of life at a tiny cost.

Contrast this with the Republican's doctrine which is to spend trillions to invade and occupy entire nations, kill thousands of innocent people, and perpetuate violence and hatred for America for as long as possible.

(no need for the Ron Paul rebuttal)
