WatchI've been reading updates on the jihad against Rush Limbaugh's advertisers and it is brutal. Blood is in the water and corporations are fleeing like roaches caught in the open when the lights turn on.
For those who forget, Dr. Laura was very quickly eliminated from television (and eventually radio) through a similar crusade about her homosexual and African American rants.

I think we're seeing the end of the Far Right. They've exposed themselves as the crackpots and wackaloons they are. From the Tea Baggers to Bachmann, Palin, Santorum and Limbaugh they've all come unhinged.
Romney will win the nomination, but he's just a corporate drone. He won't excite the rabid base.
Obama can just sit back and watch the Republicans implode.

Well hopefully all those advertisers will start to understand that it is really the fault of liberals that drove Rush to say what he did, and come back to the show.

Actually, I am surprised that this has become such a big deal. Rush tells shockingly offensive lies on a daily basis.
I don't think that this is going to spell the end for his show. He has survived similar gaffs in the past. Advertisers will come back when this quiets down, and they realize that they can have access to 20million "ditto heads" foolish enough to be manipulated by Rush.

Remember how we used to watch Beavis and Butthead in the early 1990s? We'd watch that show to laugh at Beavis and Butthead. Well, Rush is like Beavis and Butthead, except that his audience is actually dumber than he is. Instead of laughing at him, which would be a fine form of entertainment, they look to him for guidance, much like what some adults erroneously thought Gen X did with Beavis and Butthead. Some people just don't get the joke.

Rush won't be going away any more than Howard Stern did, or Dan Rather, or Bill Maher. I doubt he will even be chased off regular airwaves. His show is too popular.
He should not have called that liar girl a slut, he should have called her a phony activist.
She evidently deliberately chose this issue as something important and has been an agitator, saying that every entity must pay for the contraception of any female in that place. The issue is contraception, not a medical use of hormones which is always covered.
Like most women I know, she thinks she should work to pay for her handbags, clothes, travel, restaurants, shoes and that someone else must pay for her mundane expenses like 1. roof over her head 2. heat, light 3. necessities.
Almost all women think this way, and their goal in life is to trade sex with a *nice man* (not an ogre) for 1,2,3 above.
Whether they succeed in this depends on the woman's 1. looks 2. attitude 3. youth 4. motherhood status 5. non obese, slovenly, slatternly appearance 6. luck and careful choice of the *nice man*.
I know many bitter women who have tried the steps 1,2,3,4,5 above but they blew it on the crucial #6, and the GUY was a lazy bum or had no interest in buying the cow so to speak.
Once she has invested too much time in the wrong guy, the system breaks down for her.
There exist men who are financially successful, hardworking, and who relish the opportunity to pay for and support a woman in any and all of her whims, desires, and caprices.
These men are out there but the outward appearance is identical to the man who is 1. successful 2. nice 3. NOT interested in supporting any woman's whims, caprices, or expenses.
That bimbo Fluke better get out of DC soon. The hot babes there are all just playtoys for the bigshots, shysters, lobbyists, etc. She is not going to find a guy to take care of her, especially after her absurd rantings in public.

People might keep up the pressure on him, and get him knocked down a few notches. He might lose a few contracts when advertisers won't pay to keep him on the air, but he'll stick around unfortunately.
A lot of these advertisers don't realize they're advertising on his show even. They buy impressions from agencies with basic guide lines and those agencies will pick up these cheaper air slots to get those numbers up. I'm sure his show isn't that expensive to advertise on, generally negative shows have issues getting advertisers. Sites such as TMZ who are really negative on people have a hard time getting good advertising rates. Advertisers don't want to be associated with hate in general.

That reminds me that Tom Leykis is kinda coming back to the airwaves..
When stern left radio for xm the listeners dropped quite a bit but now he has more paying ones. satellite radio in all due respects outside of sports and music and stern..that's about it. I can't see that many other major personalities.
Conservatives do have a bit of a base that at least buys their material. Yes there are liberals that write books but it isn't nearly the same volume.
I can't see Rush being abandoned. Yes some sponsors would drop but he's been around for a few decades now. Heck look at Imus and he's still kinda around as well.

One unknown here, is how Rush might handle the situation if it really got to him. He doesn't seem like an exactly stable guy, and with all the drugs he's on, it's likely he could crack and create a mess for himself that might get him really booted.
Otherwise, I think he'll eventually bounce back. He might be smaller, but like the others, they're still on the air. However if he goes crazy, he might end up in trouble.

Where is the tabbi article? I read almost everything he writes and I dont' remember him ever writing an article about goldman sachs employees in the obama adninstration. post a link because i missed it.
As a matter a fact I don't remember anyone liberal or conservative writing that the administration was "largely made of" goldman sachs former employees. American future fund put out an ad about "obama's wall street inner circle" it was so full of gross errors like naming people who never worked for the finance industry at all or never worked in the administrative branch or who never working in finance until after leaving government that it's pretty hard to take seriously.
So enlighten us, name all the former goldman sachs executives now working the the administration. No one else, including taibi seems to be able to find this obvious story.

On a personal level, I think Rush is an asshole who is hurting America by brainwashing weak minded fools. However on a philosophical level, I'm pretty ambivalent.
On one hand, I think there's a long list of people unfairly forced off the air because of stupid comments. I'm not happy Dr. Laura was removed over the use of the word 'nigger' or her comments on gays, I'm not happy Jimmy the Greek was removed for his comments about black people in sports, and I don't like the trend of organizing fake outrage against sponsors just to get someone pulled from broadcasting.
That being said, Rush Limbaugh is an asshole who's hurting America. I guess I'll keep pondering the issue.

The big problem for fools like Pelosi and her ilk is she mistakenly believes that a majority of people like intrusive government involvement in their decisions. Most people don't.

Fluke's lies of $3000 for contraception are obvious. The obvious rebuttal is that the pill is the luxury form of contraception. She could buy a diaphram and carry it with a tube of spermicide in her purse. She could also get an IUD, they still make them.
