Now is our chance to get rich! For this Friday's drawing. This might be the biggest jackpot in history and estimated to be over $540 million. Any winnings totaling over $100 will be allocated per share based on the amount of money you "invest" in the pool. Any tax consequences are the responsibility of each individual winner. Tax consequences vary by state. http://www.megamillions.com/
Rules
* $1 = 1 share.
* Any winnings will be collected as lump sum cash option and not an annuity.
* You can put in as much or as little as you want in whole dollar amounts. (within reason)
* Checks are okay but if they bounce your shares will be invalidated and I'll hunt you down.
* Winnings less than $100 will be donated to Patrick.net instead of split into little pieces.
* Money received late by mail will be put in the 4/3/12 drawing.
* ALL numbers will be quick pick and ALL numbers will be posted on this page by 7:30pm Friday evening before the drawing begins.
* You're welcome to participate even if you think I suck.
Address:

Hush. I know the lottery is a tax on people bad at math but.........
The odds are 175 million to 1 against.
The cash value is 359 million.
There is probably a roughly 25% chance you'd have to split it in such a large drawing.
The cash value of lesser prizes is significant and would help your odds even further.
This lottery is state tax exempt and I believe federal taxes would be capped at 25%
Believe it or not, this drawing is probably an even game or better. If no one wants to join me, I'll be writing my next rants from my yacht.

How could it possibly pay out more ($359M) than the money put in ($175M)?
Is it because previous lotteries with no winners were dumped into this one?

So what we really need is a very short-term loan of $175M. We'd be almost guaranteed to win, and could easily pay it back with interest.

LOL....actually you would be guaranteed to win because you could buy every single number combination. This has been done before although on a smaller scale.
The problems are:
1. Filling out 175 million tickets in 2 days
and.....
2. The risk of multiple winners diluting the jackpot below profitability. You can still lose money even when the odds are in your favor.

Entertainment value. As little as one dollar gets you the excitement of maybe winning. That's a screaming deal compared to $10 for a movie ticket to a Hollywood movie that might bore you enough to leave before its over.

I don't normally play the lottery, but what the heck. I am however, going to buy my own tickets.
http://www.megamillions.com/whereto/states_ca.asp
I didn't know this but here in California, lottery winnings are not subject to state taxes. Cool.
If I win the big price, I'm going to retire and move back to Texas and buy a new house.
Here it is: http://www.zillow.com/homedetails/11431-Cat-Spgs-Boerne-TX-78006/69642624_zpid/
I will also make a nice donation to patrick.net. ;-)

But if the pool wins, some of the winnings might go to a Realtard. Don't want that!
Fingers Crossed. :-)
Speaking of "fingers crossed", I had a manager a number of years ago who would always say that phrase when we moved some updated software to the production system. I guess it's worked because we never had to roll back the updates. Good COBOL code!

I'm pretty sure there aren't any realtors in my pool.
Besides, if you participate you'll be taking money AWAY from a Realtard since you'll be dividing the winnings by more shares.

$462 million / 444 numbers = $1.04 million per share.

It might be a good idea to re-take the pictures of the tickets, but this time the March 30th Friday Date also shows up for each ticket.
I understand that might mean that we need multiple pictures since all may not fit on the same page...
