I Took a look at this house and it was nice and cozy. Very open floor plan as kitchen was completely opened up to the living room. Granite countertops in kitchen and both bathrooms. There was a oder inside as the previous owner must have had animals.
The oddest think happened when we looked at the house. The previous owner showed up and started saying that there is a lawsuit pending on the property. I was told by a realtor that the previous owner tried breaking into the home on multiple occasions and thats why all the windows are boarded up.

Probably the house got foreclosed. Owner has hired an attorney to sue the lender prior to the foreclosure. However, former owner will likely lose the case. Who cares if you want to buy it. That's what title insurance is for.

E-Man, make sure you buy title insurance that covers YOU and not just the lender. And be sure it covers problems with chain of title. Not a bad idea to have an attorney review the sales contract before buying an REO, the lenders have some intersting language they like to insert.
