An innocent man is riding in the car with his pregnant wife and child. He isn't even driving. Cops pull the car over and demand to see ID from the man. Man obliges. Cops say they have a warrant for his arrest due to unpaid fines. The man, use to this mistake because it has happened repeatedly, immediately produces the court order proving that the warrant has been invalidated by a judge. Turns out that in NJ, where this took place, it is not a crime to fail to pay fines and so the warrant was illegal to begin with.

The police ignore the court order and illegally arrest the man. The man does not resist in any way. The police strip search the completely innocent and illegally arrested man multiple times. The man was not carrying anything illegal or even any legal weapons.

Naturally the man sued for violations of his civil and human rights. He broke no law, but was subject to sexual humiliation. This case made it to the Supreme court where all 4 conservative judges and the swing judge decided that the police can strip search and sodomize any person with cavity searches, even innocent people, even people arrested on minor issues like not wearing a seat belt, even innocent children and there is not a damn thing you can do about it.

That's right. A sicko cop could stick his hand up your 10-year-old child's ass on in your wife's vagina, and they have no rights whatsoever. That's conservative America. And it's why conservatives are evil hypocrites. The police can legally sodomize anyone. You don't have to commit a crime. If some cop thinks your hot, he can finger you up all he wants.

How about a law stating that every time a strip search is performed on a prisoner, the cop, his/her spouse, and any children they have must also endure the same humiliation? If security's that important, then you shouldn't mind a little sacrifice on the police's part to ensure that this power isn't abused. Hell, every one of those judges who voted to legalize this should have to endure a strip search and body cavity search every single day for the rest of their lives. And it should be played on Network TV at 7 p.m.

Damn, this is just legalized rape. Time to file this under "Things that utterly disgust me about America".

Why do you hate Freedom, Dan?

If we don't strip search people with outstanding fines, the terrorists win.

Maybe we should just make public nudity mandatory then.

There's a fascist party in the United States and there's a rather lame resistance in the form of the Democrats.

This is yet another data point.

    Iwog, Dan, Nomo, etc.

We are not the .1%. Let's leave the .1% and the right wing nut job redneck bible thumpers the country and head to someplace better where we don't have to put up with crap like this.

Seriously, if you took the combined wealth of left-leaning upper middle America, we could probably afford a real nice part of Madagascar or something.

    The weather would be better.

And we could afford to take along the poor the right wing nutjobs blame for all of our problems.

We could do quite a bit without the tax breaks for the 1%, interest on the debt, defense, and medicare boondoogles.

Be a nice social experiment. Take the libs away from the country and the poor...who would the .1% convince the rednecks are ruining the country then?

How long until the US bombs Madagascar? A week?

The Bible Thumpers are more like 25-33%. The 0.1% are rich, godless, amoral rent-seekers and zero-sum game players.

There was a movement a few years ago by some Libertarians to get all the Libertarians in the country to move to Delaware because it was a small state with Libertarian-friendly policies. The idea was to take over that state by sheer numbers and turn it into a Libertarian Mecca. I think the idea didn't take off.

You're idea is a plausible, but it is extremely risky. And the thing is, you'd need to be able to maintain income while living in the new country. We Americans get paid a lot more than the rest of the world only because our living expenses are more. I.e., the dollar's purchasing power is less here than in other places. If you moved to where the dollar's purchasing power was greater, you're income would be less.

You mean we're not already? Someone must have lost the paperwork.

I can just about guarantee that at least half of Americans support such actions.

(to be fair: There is a consistent 20% of americans who support incredibly crazy shit, no matter what)

And those half of Americans should be locked up, cavity searched, and prevented from ever seeing daylight again. A few days of that, and I'm sure they will change their minds.

Americans who are for human rights violations are so solely because they erroneously believe that their own rights won't be violated. They incorrectly assess how much protection is afforded by being in a herd of 300 million individuals. They think that the government can only commit these atrocities on a few individuals, so the chances of they or someone they love being violated is as improbably as winning the lottery.

They are wrong. Technology makes it cheap to dehumanize people and violate their rights. And it's getting cheaper every day. As such, a greater and greater percentage of the population has to endure sexual humiliation and other forms of brutality. Eventually, they will get to you no matter where in the herd you hide.

Word. I've always felt the primary audience for the show "Cops" consisted of the same demographic who get screwed with on the show.

Can't watch the thing, breaks my heart.
