But the graph doesn't go far enough to show the pink fork in the road, the road to tyranny, that says "American Democrat", indentified by the hammer and sickle, single red star, and millions of downtrodden subjects. I'm going to get my wife her morning coffee, feed our four rescue dogs and then take 'em for their morning walk. Happy Easter.

Not sure what you are talking about. The graph does end in 1930, and so it doesn't show the reversal of the two modern parties during the 1960s when the Dixiecrats left the Democratic Party to join the Republican Party. It would be interesting to see that process on this graph. As for communism and the Soviet Union, I don't see how Democrats today are anything like the Soviet Union. Socialism isn't communism. Not that communism is necessarily a bad thing. It was tyranny, not a flawed implementation of communism, that made the Soviet Union evil. tyranny + communism = Stalin tyranny + fascism = Mussolini Both are bad, and both because of the tyranny.
