GERMANY is proposing to levy extra taxes on the young to pay for the costs of the country’s growing numbers of old people, under government plans for a ”demographic reserve” levy.

Western countries with big expensive government are going to need to have more babies to pay for all this. Unfortunately, we have been propogandized to believe humans are like a virus on our planet and some countries in the West now have negative birth rates.

Many European countries with negative birth rates thought they could get along by increasing immigration. But that is a recipe of disaster a few years from now when the immigrants are paying higher and higher taxes to support a mostly white elderly European population living on pensions.

Spoken like a true Keynesian. Easy money got us into this problem. The solution is low interest rates! Too many babies born to WWII GIs got us into this problem. More babies is the answer!

Well, being a patriot, I'll do what I can to make as many babies as possible.

Japanese politicians are trying to do just about the same thing -- double the consumption tax to 10% and route all that money to Baby Boomer pensions.

Just in time for the much smaller "Ice Age" generation -- born in 1972-1987; so named because of the dearth of employment opportunities once they reached adulthood -- to come into their highest-spending years! (Raising children will thus be even more expensive than before -- at a time when the fertility rate is at a historical low.)

Is there no end to the Boomers' grasping avarice? Whole nations will go down the drain, but the Boomers will stay in clover while everyone born after them suffers. Apres nous, le deluge!
