Is she heading to 50?

God bless government bailouts, and those who benefit

And a big fat, sloppy turd on the face of john j. Taxpayer

Someone told me once that all venture capital firms are backed by insurance companies because there's nothing out there profitable enough to do so. That was before things like the internet and social media came along so maybe that's no longer true but I know it was for decades.

I think Obama and his people understand all too well what's coming in November. That's why Geithner got called out by Code Pink at the Commonwealth Club the other night. He said sometimes governments have to do things that aren't very popular in order to preserve the greater good. Right away, he's showing his hand. They're gonna get the shit kicked out of them in November and all this posturing from Obama is an attempt to keep the damage at a minimum. This is what Carter in 1980, Mondale in 1984 and Dukakis in 1988 were all doing.

We know who the next President is going to be. I want to know who the next Fed chief is.

    Gentle Reader,
Obama is not Carter. 'W' was Carter. The problem is that O' is not Reagan. I voted for Ford and then Reagan (the 1st time.) I would never vote for someone like Carter. I did vote for O' because I couldn't stomach McCain/Palin. We are living with an oligarchy full of criminals.

You're right rootvg, the nation seems to be rallying as a whole behind Mitt Romney. All I see on television is praise for the Republican party for their great job/ willingness to compromise. Mitt Romney is the charismatic leader we need to make things different in Washington. I will now wipe the vomit off of my keyboard after typing that...

    Gentle Reader,
I'm the kind of person that the Religious Far Right will cheerfully murder, cut off my head, put it on a spike, and consider themselves to have done a wholesomely good thing.

Being an atheist brings that kind if thing out in these people.

friends, rootvg is a bigot who has posted hateful things about his fellow gay Americans, like the gay clients of his employer, his gay neighbors in Danville, his spouse's gay coworkers in the U.C. system.

It is better to put the bigot on ignore.

If you live in the south or (increasingly) the industrial midwest, conservatives ARE the majority.

It's not the United States of California, Massachusetts, Illinois and Maryland. I promise you, it isn't.

But you yourself have not done so, obviously. Why not?

Why do you care about rootvg's opinions? If you were secure about your sexual identity, you wouldn't care what he thinks.

Not sure I'm following your here. If one chooses to speak out against bigotry towards {blacks|hispanics|jews|etc} is that because they have an unconscious belief that they themselves are {black|hispanic|jewish|etc}?

If the election were like a football point spread, I would handicap it like this:

    Obama (-3.5) vs Romney

This reflects the fact that I expect Obama to win, but in a competative matchup. At the end of the day, the women vote will go for Barack and Romney will not be able to attract the indies in a significant number to win.

Obama would be the first sitting President since 1936 to gain a second term with the economy in the shape it's in. He MUST carry Ohio and Florida.

    What makes Obama another FDR?

Obama will win for sure. Incumbent advantage is huge. He's black so its rascist to not vote for him (i know its retarded but federal elections are determined by small # of swing voters in a couple of purple states). Also he killed Osama. That has to sway some 'swings' right?

On the other hand Romney has nice hair. That goes a long way with swing voters (these people are tards, remember that! Tards decide all POTUS elections)

Obama is currently -158, not sure that warrants the hook

Obama is -3, and it's going to end in a push

-158 is still cheap imo. Bama should go off as 2 to 1 favs come election time.

OK, so we have all collectively decided to kick ourselves for not investing in AIG at it's low, so we have to talk about Obama instead?

Check out it's 5 year stock chart, it's actually pretty interesting. Personally, I don't like buying stocks that don't pay dividends.

AIG's problem was the undercharging for derivative premiums that blew up in their face, not their core insurance businesses. Once the taxpayers took care of the derivatives problem, AIG was fine.
