100,000 new troops apparently. http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/promises-promises-questions-about-romney-vows-to-cut-taxes-expand-military-balance-budget/2012/04/27/gIQA58SclT_story.html
Republican platform to balance budget: (you can't make this shit up)
1. Dramatically increase military spending and hire 100,000 additional troops for the war Republicans will start shortly after taking office.
2. Give the richest Americans massive tax cuts by eliminating all forms of taxation that don't actually involve work. (dividends, interest, capital gains)
3. Eliminate all estate taxes so billionaires never need to relinquish their possessions. (that farm you have your eye on will be locked into a single family for 1000 years)
4. Eliminate most Medicare benefits (opposed 2 to 1 by Ammericans)
5. "Reform" social security. (average 25% cuts across the board)
6. Cut waste (HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA......right)
Quiz: What do most Republican voters say the number one issue is?
Answer: BALANCING THE FEDERAL BUDGET!!!!!
How is this not brain damage?

Yeah, that would seem shocking and nasty if I had not actually read that entire thread in context.
Admittedly Dan can be quite abrasive in some of his comments, but shrek's comments make Dan look like a bringer of love, peace and good will to all.
Too bad we don't have all shrek's old comments to reference, or if we do I don't know where they are. Why is that cloud?
Hell, "Honest"Abe is still around and he/she has said that they would like to imprison, torture and/or banish liberals. Perhaps you disagree, but it seems to me a little nastier than name calling.

Now, Cloud... did you whine in an email to Patrick and not get the response you wanted?
Is that why you are so sure that others emailed Patrick and that is what lead to shrek's ban?
If you can the truth now, did you send complaint emails to Patrick about other forum members?

OK, but let's sum-up my list of questions you refuse to answer and I have another for you.
1. What are the names of other conservative that got banned like shrek did?
2. Where is the quote where I state that you are the only one who let's it "fly"?
3. Did you send a email to Patrick complaining about other posters?
4. Where are the posts where Dan says something as "nasty" as calling to imprison and torture people who he disagrees with and that they are all evil enough to go to hell for opposing him?
-Bonus if you find a post where he lies about what other posters are saying (that would be pretty nasty right?)
What are you afraid of Cloud why don't you answer my questions? They should be pretty simple right?

It's ok if you don't have the analytical skills to understand this stuff. Not everyone made past third grade, don't be ashamed. Bush's law says it's ok to make you disappear, Obama's law says that Bush's law is valid. I know valid is a big word so take your time looking it up. Anyway, I said that both were bad. But hey you don't seem capable of understanding that either.
Yes you are totally correct. The AUMF passed by BUSH which is the law that NDAA is validating is "one of THE most outrageous acts that any President has ever done. Egregiousness beyond compare. The very act of a dictator. ". Go team gestapo. As I said many times, Obama is Bush's third term.
First you say that Obama's ministry of information suppressed the press on the NDAA so there were no stories. Now you say there was lots of press but it wasn't enough for people to understand. Perfect, which is it?
Have you ever posted 2 consistent posts? Anyone ever catch cloud posting 2 consistent posts?

I loved shrek. Asked patrick not to ban him. He was funny as hell.
Where did I say you were offensive. Droll, pedestrian, frequently incomprehensible, more frequently outright silly, but not offensive. At least not to me.

There is this wonderful program on the internet called google. I got pages of nyt stories about ndaa. Is your copy of google not working somehow? Do you know how to use google by any chance?
Of course, now I get it, google is a lacky lickspittle organization working secretly for the Obama ministry of information and just prints these things so people believe there were articles printed about ndaa when actually the MIA suppressed them. It's all very clear now. It's like the moon landings.

boots on the ground - young, American boots - in hostile zones is more effective, fruitful spending on more honest work, labor and services than taxes and spending on papershuffling bureaucrat salaries and subcontracting administrators. It's better than spending on murdering American babies, or on pregnancy prevention for illegals instead of deportation, or on climatology "research" and other liberal pet projects designed to increase government revenue and dependence on government services, or just flat out spy on Americans in their homes or in public.

The problem is that you seem incapable of understanding that BUSH, your hero to the mouth breather jack boot set, made himself dictator, not Obama. Obama just continued on as Bush's third term. I don't understand why you keep saying is it's the liberal's that did this unless Bush is also a liberal to you. I just don't see Bush as a liberal but who knows. I guess you are far to the right of hitler that Bush is a serious liberal in your mind. Or do you just not have any clue where these law's came from?
Obama just (totally wrongly I agree) signed a law that says yep Bush did that and I'm going to continue to do it. Read the damn law if you don't know what you are talking about. At this point your rantings about Stalin and the Communist party are making you look like a total idiot.
I'm not disagreeing with you that the law is awful, a total outrage, should not have been signed. But NDAA didn't do anything new. I just don't even begin to understand how you can't be aware that the people who shredded the bill of rights were named Reagan, Bush, and Bush. Where's your outrage about your conservative heroes actions? The only legislation I can think of passed under Obama that actually reduced individual rights was the forced buying of insurance in Obamacare.
So try to name any bill signed by Obama that made any NEW incursions on civil rights other than Obamacare. Even the best that the far right wing obama hating websites (that I read also) can come up with is that Obama continued Bush's policies. I don't like Obama as president one bit, but he hasn't further reduced civil rights from the pathetic non existent level left to him by Bush. That he should have restored them is a different argument that I would support 110%.
Don't bother to respond to this post I'll do it for you.
Bullshit
Stalin
Communist China
Liberals

Obama
See, I've trotted out your entire vocabulary so you don't have to strain yourself.
Or you could really surprise everyone with some type of actual reasoned defense of your position. Or even better, if you are actually concerned about civil rights which I really doubt, take a look at the real haters of civil rights, the neocon set. They still exist in large numbers in congress and are not giving up on the idea of a total police state anytime soon. Then again the sun might rise in the west today.

LOL! Cloud, you have officially gone insane. Don't like Obama? Fine. Almost half of the voting public would agree with you. But asserting that he has dictatorial power is ridiculous.
The opposition has been pretty effective at blocking his attempts to raise taxes on the top 0.1%, for example.

GW Bush was a liberal who expanded government and permitted major government intrusion into Americans' lives using their own tax dollars. Mayor Bloomberg, in NY, is also a liberal. Do you see what makes these republican party members "liberal"?
A liberal republican is just as bad - or I'd grant even worse - than a democrat on board with his party's politics.

Why not? When are the people who wholeheartedly support GWB going to say "I fucked up", instead of saying "he's not really a conservative" or "he did it, but the liberals were behind it". Hell, I was Republican. Voted for Nixon. Voted for Reagan once. I got rolled by Reagan, but at least I quickly realized it. Reagan started the trashing of the bill of rights and drove the debt through the roof. Some republican. The second the patriot act passed Bush supporters should have known they were hosed, yet they keep looking for excuses to this day.
Obama supporters are just as bad. He is as ineffective deer in the headlights president as Carter. He should have reenacted the RTC the day he set foot in office. Put a bunch of banks out of business and bankers into jail. The second day he should have started the process of rolling back every every law that infringes on civil liberties passed in the last 20 years. He hasn't made the police state worse, so I guess that's something. Obama taught constitutional law for christ sakes. Obviously he didn't believe in it.
Romney terrifies me. I think he would actually get into a shooting war with Iran.
I've been a close observer and/or participant (voter registration drives, polling volunteer, etc.) in the political system since the 60's and the system is just not working any more. The lunatic fringes drive the entire process. We were better off with smoke filled back room politics.
Obama vs Romney. In a country of 335 million people this is the best we can do? The founding fathers really should have provided a none of the above/start over option for the voters.
