You can love Obama, or you can hate him. You can love or hate his policies. But there is one thing no man or woman can take from him: his campaign's media team.

Dear gods. Who does he have working those desks? What serum has he injected them with?

Some of the facts here are indisputable, and are clearly targetted at the most ignorant of beliefs that his opposition tends to hold. Esp. around domestic fossil fuel production, tax cuts, spending cuts, those sorts of things.

Others are more disputable. To get at his number for jobs creation, one needs fairly technical counterfactual macroeconomic analysis. You need to ask 'what-ifs.' That's inherently assailable. Overall, the video is a very partial assessment, chock full of narrative. Not a tall glass of 200 proof fact. It doesn't impress me on the strength of its analysis.

What floors me is the production. Stunning. It flows like a goddamned Bruckheimer trailer. It's even better than that Joe Manchin ad that showed a Democrat with a weapon and got away with it.

    Good analysis.

Even if there are a few slight exaggerations, it's a breathtaking contrast to what the right wing propaganda machine would have its sheep believe.

For many independents who are comparing the two messages, which one will they believe? Which one is closer to the truth ? (especially regarding obstruction of reasonable policies)

    May the best man win.

Extremely well crafted. Interesting that contraception coverage was mentioned twice. Before the republicans made it an issue likely few even knew it was in Obamacare.

The list of incremental tyranical laws that are being proposed and or already on the books sound like "1984". Combined with an ever evolving police state with never ending war and ever rising debt and you have a recipe for financial and sociatal collapse (paraphrased from reader comments to the following link)

HEre's the current state of affairs in America:

Aren't you concerned in the least? If you prefer socialism or communism we're certainly headed in the right direction, wouldn't you agree, comrade.

If I thought we were on a road to a totalitarian nightmare of any variety (and Bob is exactly right about fascism --know your isms) I'd be looking into a way out for me and my family, and following through on it before it's too late. That would be my responsibilty as a father and husband.

It's instructive to consider how the unfolding events of the 1930s must have looked to European Jews, socialists in the west, intellectuals in the east, homosexuals, Roma, dissenters, et cetera. And how radically their different responses (rational flight or denialist inaction) shaped --or erased-- the futures of their families and descendants.

If you think that is our road today, then you need to consider how your actions today compare to those of the people who survived the 1930s, 40s and 50s under Hitler and Stalin, and those who did not. Inaction is a choice. Choices have consequences. Consider wisely.

    Zzyzzx,

Your side by side double poster has lots of visual impact. Its actually quite disgusting. "Tax the Rich", "Spread the Wealth", punish success, "Fair Share", Economic Equality". Even the slogan is the same: "FORWARD" comrades.

Thats a proven recipe for failure, not a way to get America back on track.

I wonder how the libs can justify, rationalize or explain away the exact similarities of both posters?

I wonder how, in this day and age, Abe can not understand that Photoshop exists.

I am sure that he takes the Weekly World News very seriously, after all they do have pictures to prove their stories.

This is easily the most credulous utterance I have ever read.

Abe, listen, text in authentic Soviet propaganda posters is written in Russian. Ie: Руский язык. It has a different look, because it uses different letters from ours. Their alphabet is called "Cyrillic," and is more closely related to the Greek alphabet than our Latin-derived one.

There are other, more subtle stylistic points that give it away as a forgery. For example, you never see Lenin leading men off a cliff in authentic Soviet Poster art. No more than you ever see Obama leading men off a cliff in authentic Obama campaign material.

There is no hope for you.

Sadly, he could do better for one reason. His opposition would be humans who actually want what's best for the country and in at least many cases are smart enough to know that destroying the country is not better than allowing our leader a little success, simply because he's a member of the other corporate & plutocrat sponsored party.

No, no, no, its the mentality thats the same. Lenin and Obama's causes are identical.

    Heavy progressive income tax
    Spread the wealth
    Economic equality
    Fair share
    Kill opportunity
    Equal misery
    Abolish success
    Government dependency

Not a pretty picture, is it?

The ugliest picture on this forum is your obsession with dishonesty. It's so sad really.

You can get better Abe. Just experiment with objectivity.

Obamas most progressive fantasy would have someone with an income of 500K paying maybe 12 or 15K more than they pay now.

Is this really equal misery ? Or Abolishing success ?

DO you have any idea how much pity I feel for you ?
