No penalty = who cares. We need Buyers agents to feel judicial PAIN when they get caught so they won't lie again. We also need to extend the statute of limitations to 50 years, just in case the agent thinks it will be long time before you find all those defects they pretended were not there. They may have sold this P.O.S. shack in the past and knew ALL the bad things about it...but they will not get paid unless the crap box is sold. e 90% of all house listed in California have illegal-or non-permitted additions. The buyers won't find out until an fire insurance claim is denied or the illegal un-permitted work is discovered.

If the law has really been enacted, it can't make any difference. Realtors® routinely commit felonies and shrug, knowing no one expects anything from them except criminal perfidy, financial violence, extortion and nonfeasance and proportionally (although any number are indicted every hour) very few do time.
