Article fails to mention cost of the electricity produced by this wind turbine though.

So, they are superfluous and an added unnecessary expense to the power grid. They are essentially a waste unless you live in the Gaspe Peninsula of Quebec, or similar. These locations are extremely few. For the occasional grinding of grains I hear they're pretty good. Pumping water sometimes also works. I would not "invest" in anything that is so non-productive in general and useless in particular. Apple, Exxon, Pfizer, Caterpillar, Deere, Monsanto, Ford, they make things and sell them.

I can't imagine the military being too interested in such a thing (big consumer of temporary power) as its WAY too easy to just shoot down. The only high volume wind power solution I liked was the idea of re purposing old oil platforms to be used for offshore wind turbines. That cuts the capital costs and saves everyone the trouble of demolishing the platforms.
