Looks like California deficit has grown more than expected..

Are there any bond bears out there? I have a hunch CA is in for a lot of a pain and I'm curious if we as "retail investors" can partake in credit default swaps on bonds. If so how? I'm not finding much out there on how to initiate an order

You lack the connections to play with CDS. Even if you had them you'd get skint alive by bigger players, it's a completely opaque market.

I wouldn't bet against California. You'll end up like Meredith Whitney, who was a municipal bond bear for years and eventually had to eat that crow.
