Now all they need to do is the exact same thing for Christian law.

    From the article:

The new law, taking effect July 1, doesn't specifically mention Shariah law, which broadly refers to codes within the Islamic legal system. Instead, it says courts, administrative agencies or state tribunals can't base rulings on any foreign law or legal system that would not grant the parties the same rights guaranteed by state and U.S. constitutions.

    My take:
Utterly harmless, sensible, and probably unnecessary. IANAL, though!

If correct, this law applies equally to Sharia and Christian law (insofar as Christian law is not already integrated into actual state/federal law).

    Is there more to this?

Just because it doesn't explicitly state Shariah law, which is intentional because the politicians know how stupid it sounds, doesn't mean it's not all about that.

And really, Islamic law ain't the problem in Kansas. Christian law is. The hypocrisy is that Kansas embraces theocracy, when it's Christian theocracy, but wants separation of church and state when it comes to other religions. Well, you can't have it both ways. If you don't maintain the wall that separates church and state, when Islam becomes the majority religion, all pathetic little laws like these will be either repeal or effectively castrated by "domestic" Islamic law.

The only way to protect yourself against having to obey other people's religions is to protect others from having to obey yours.

You want to persecute Christians, just admit it.

Oh, I'm glad they stopped that from happening. I mean, there was such a huge risk of it happening.

Christians are always claiming to be persecuted even though they have been suppressing our rights for the past 200 years in this country. Maybe it is time to show them what real persecution is like. You know, like burning them at the stake or putting them on the Judas Cradle. OK, I'm not that evil, but at least we can force them to wear burkas to remind them about their obscenity laws or force them to eat only falafels to remind them about their blue laws.
