Why are you so happy? Republicans are a cancer on the country and this election proves it beyond a shadow of a doubt. Here's a graphic representation of your "win":

If you vote Republican, you're voting for corruption and bought elections. You're voting for a new aristocracy with noble estates controlling the election process. Wisconsin proves which party is on the side of history and which party is killing America.

Rebuttal? No fucking way. Republicans wouldn't know where to start. Billionaires controlling elections with money is a good thing? One dollar one vote? Republicans are an international disgrace and that fact is illustrated perfectly in Walker's win tonight. There will be no debate or public discourse. Republicans will gloat without the slightest reason why they won or what they have gained.

Why do I suspect that the orange part of Scott Walker's pie comes from a few rich donators and the orange part of Tom Barrett's pie comes from many middle class donators?

    Prove it, please.

I did prove it. The chart proves it. Out of state money poured in by the millions to ensure that Republican interests (and the interests of the aristocracy) were protected. Fuck the working class, this was about giving fewer pennies to the peons so rich assholes can afford another aircraft for their worthless spawn.

Shrek, I don't expect you to wake up, but any rational person viewing this chart should be disgusted.

    Wtf ?

We have no "left" in this country.

Kill off unions further and then who exactly do you think will be funding what you call "the left?" Who funds it now ?

We have a corporatocracy. Many corporations that fund campaigns are moderate. Thats why we have one party the is moderate right and another that is far right.

But both parties are financed by corporations that have their own self interest as a priority. This is a sad day for America.

Out of time but the entire paragraph this is in is just crazy uninformed talk.

IN all my life, there may have been "Good Neighborhoods" but never "Good Schools" not on the Public School's dime. Well in the scheme of things either you were a good pupil or you weren't. But there was never an advantage of going to one school vs the other. They were all the same.

Generally the higher socioecomic neighborhood have better public schools. But most of what you're saying here is pulled right out of a hind orifice.

I get it. You have these feelings and you need to make some shit up to justify them.

FYI, more title one money and state moneys go to the bad schools. But local real estate taxes in many areas where schools are partly funded in this way more than offsets this.

The folks in the good neighborhoods sent their kids to private schools, because they didn't want their kids to socialize with the riff raff shipped in the from the bad neighborhoods

In my experience (Kentucky, Colorado) the perceived quality of a school (test scores, reputation, etc) is correlated with the economic level of the houses that surround it. Highly correlated.

It's not quite as as bad as "all good schools are in rich neighborhoods and all schools in poor neighborhoods are bad", but it's close, in my experience.

This is correct and the reason is not so obvious. It's not just that there are less extremely disruptive students. In fact those students can be dealt with. But having too many under motivated kids who are several grade levels behind. Now that's hard to deal with.

The main reason schools are so much better in higher income areas is that there are far more good kids in these areas. Meaning kids who have good diets and have parents who have been getting after them about their school work since they were 3 or 4. And a lack of craziness and stress at home is a good thing too. Not to mention having parents who understand that being successful in school is not only very doable, it's also very necessary.

As a teacher, I can tell you that an even bigger determinant of the quality of education than how good the teacher is, is who the other students are. The collective group sets an example for the others and they determine the competition. They indirectly determine how challenging the lessons can be.

There are many TOP TOP flight public schools in stable middle class and upper middle class areas, and this is the simple reason why. And yes, these areas attract and retain great teachers. Teachers may start their careers feeling that they can and want to have a big impact on low achieving students in poor neighborhoods. But they learn that undermotivated students (at least at the high school level) are often very difficult to motivate.

I see CS removed some comments. Presumably because he realized how silly they were. SOmething about not being able to get students in to another districts schools. Because of LBJ or since LBJ. I wonder how he thinks that should work ?

LEts say a high school has a capacity of 3000 students, and there are 3150 students eligable to attend in the immediate community. What should the criterea be for admitting students from other communities, and thus excluding even more of the neighborhood students from attending ?

Also, states differ quite a bit from one state to the next. But it's clear that CS has absolutely no clue whatsoever what's going on in public education outside of his own little bubble. And as usual, in that bubble there is no border between facts, imagination and creativity with CS's understanding of things.

In other words poor schools are due to a lack of parenting in black communities (and yes I did hear Howard Stern say this, and he is right).

No, It's poor communities. And lets face it, the reasons for lack of parenting can be anything from parents working multiple minimum wage jobs, to having immature parents (or worse - addicted etc).

It's not about race. It's about income (which may correleate with education level, =and other factors).

    What Unions?
Unions assume that it's all about the people that join them.
My Sister is in the SIU, she goes to the Union hall every day for the last twelve months trying to ship out. Her and hundreds of other card carrying members, sat there day after day. As Vets returning home from Iraq that have no seniority and never has and in some cases, walk in, go in the back and then come out with a ship.

You gripe about corporatocracy, but then when someone complains about the VAT tax that allowing our energy needs be unnecessarily over speculated, then you folks defend that and talk about free enterprise, and make excuses.

The Left isn't for the little guy, they just want to ensure there are more of them so their spawn gets an unfair advantage. That is why 90% of state education resources goes to the "Good Schools" and screw everyone else. IN all my life, there may have been "Good Neighborhoods" but never "Good Schools" not on the Public School's dime. Well in the scheme of things either you were a good pupil or you weren't. But there was never an advantage of going to one school vs the other. They were all the same.

So excuse me, if I can't get excited about the Privileged sectors pet educators are having a rough go of it. Perhaps the teachers should have represented all Pupils, and not just the Liberal elite's kids.

Want a good school pay for it. I think its a damn disgrace, that Weston the most exclusive community in South Florida, had their graduation ceremony at Marlins Park, where Joe Biden was the MC.

What are the other schools chopped liver?

Stop pretending you folks care about equality because you don't, you just want to whip all of the cretins into line, so you and your off spring can advance with minimal impediments.
For years the "bad school" districts kids have been complaining that the FCAT was unfair and was irrelevant to their curriculum. It always fell on deaf ears. The "Good Schools" had the teachers and the resources to teach the curriculum that the FCAT represented so they fared well.

But now as Facebook and realistic Video games is consuming more of those kids time, and are not faring as well as in the past. With something like 80% failure rate. NOW the parents in the "Good School" districts are angry and complaining about the unfair expectations of the FCAT. And now lawmakers are listening to them.

    Nice double standard, nice...

A big problem is in other neighborhoods, you can't discipline the unruly kids, you can't impose a dress standard, with out instilling a uniform dress code, which does more to make the uniform manufactures rich than anything else.
The unruly kids hold court in the classroom and distract from the other kids trying to learn. The only time disciplinary action is taken is after a violent assault or a weapons charge.

The good school districts wouldn't tolerate none of that nonsense for one minute. When I went to school, if my Mom or Dad ever showed their mug at the school, I was in trouble not the teachers.

Then last but not least, the non "Good School" districts are staffed with the bottom of the barrel. When was the last time you ever heard, that the Janitor molested a kid or the coach or the teacher was caught having sex with a student at a "Good School"? It's a daily occurrence on the news every where else.

It's silly when people think their party is noble and virtuous whereas the other party is pure evil and wants to destroy America. They both suck. I'm sure we could find a chart where a democrat did the same thing to a republican. They are both awful and we have no one else to vote for, it's quite sad.

What's the problem w/ Walker winning? You think the Dem's "message" was not clear enough? Sad that the Union Thugs didn't spend enough to get their "message" through to the voters? Listen, I'm living in Mass. for over 25 years now, and I know how the 20% republicans votes get erased by 'redistricting' and 'bought elections', so don't cry me a river about Walker's $$ coming from outside the state. Hell, look at Liz Walker from Oklahoma running for senator here in MA. I lying, plaigiarizing, house flipper, elite-Harvard professor telling us she's fighting for the middle class...When was this? When she was lying about being 1/32nd Cherokee, or when she flipped houses back in the '90's....Back to my point...Don't get all wee-wee'd up about Walker winning. He followed through on his promises, and the voters/tax payers saw IMMEDIATE relief. 2+ Billion dollar deficit turned into a surplus within 2 years, and yes Martha, the sky hasn't fallen yet... It's not so much about Walker being a republican, it happens to be about a govenor who called BS on the unions. As for Teachers unions (NOT the teachers), they never gave a FCUK about the kids, and you can take that to the bank. Why do you think the Teacher Unioin ranks are being decimated? Answer me that one, chiefy...

....And another thing. I have zero problem w/ Unions in the private sector. You know, the place called reality. If unions can offer workers real benefits, and can survive in the workplace, I"m for it. (Right to work anyone?) It's public-sector unions that shouldn't even exist. Too much corruption, too much conflict of interest. Unioin dues going straight into campaign coffers of politician. You whine about out of state contributions to Walker, but turn a blind eye to union-sponsored advertising on the backs of teachers that don't want to be in the union? WTF is that all about, eh?

    That was Liz Warren

She would make a classy Independent snapping at the asses of all of the assholes in Washington. But she's just a Liberal sell out lap dog.
Who got to close to making a difference, so the Obama office sent her on a fools errand.

Yeah, Liz Warren. What a creepy lady. You think she'd get hired by Harvard if she was just a plain 'ole white gal out of Oklahoma? MeThinks not. She claimed Cherokee, Harvard DESPARATELY needed some color in the teaching ranks, and VIOLA! quid pro quo deal, no heritage to prove (until she threw her hat in the ring). Who's the einstein in the Mass DNC who didn't vet this little problem before deciding on Hollywood's little liberal darling? Talk about affirmative action run amok. Look up Howie Carr; a funny local AM radio conservative. He got Christmas in May when Lyin' Lizzie started flapping her gums...AAAAAND Patrick's audience would love to know that she's a liberal elite HOUSE FLIPPER?!!!! Anyone? Hello? Yeah, thought so....

    Honest Abe says

The taxpayers have begun to stop the financial insanity created by unionized government workers. Unionized government workers, of course, are attempting to continue the extortion of public funds.

Nobody, repeat nobody, represents the taxpayers interest. The taxpayers are finally sticking up for themselves - regardless of the amount of political donations.

No, the working taxpayers have been tricked into believing they'll benefit. When the rubber hits the road the corporations and .01%'s are going to use the money saved by paying less to teachers and fighterfighters to provide themselves subsidies and tax cuts. If they create any jobs at all they'll be overseas. Working taxpayers will only reap lower quality public education and longer emergency responce times and the Republicans will point to that and bemoan how terrible government is.

Futures, did I read you correctly? Since when did corporations pay for local firefighters and teachers?.Am I missing something? Not trying to be a dick, but...It's taxpayers/voters who pay for firefighters and teachers. And those voters were fed up w/ paying waaaay too much of firefighter/teacher cadillac pension/healthcare. When there's more $$ in the pockets of tax payers, that's when you'll see the economy improve.
