Thank god we've got honest appointees in high government offices, placed there by a reputable president. No cronysim here, and corruption IS over.

But that depends upon what the meaning if "is" is, doesn't it? This would actually be funny if it wasn't so pathetic. Sociopaths, the whole lot of them.

Good point. No, I do not think that this justifies corruption. Efforts should be made to minimize corruption and the first step to this is to realize that corruption is a problem inherent in any human endeavor. Honest Abe says 707, corruption permeates ALL organizations? Perhaps permeates was too strong of a word. I should have said corruption is a presence in all organizations. Different styles of organization lend themselves more or less toward corruption. Generally speaking the more money at stake and the more opaque and organization the higher the risk of corruption.
