Trying this once again. I am familiar with the seasonal swings in the for sale market. However I have never followed the rental market very closely, and now that we have to look for a new place to rent, I'm looking for advice on how prices trend during the summer months.

Are there trends that indicate how rental pricing in the bay area fluctuates throughout the year, specifically can we expect to see some relief when fall rolls around?

Would appreciate any comments or links to statistics if they exist.

Thanks.

    SophiesChoice says

how prices trend during the summer months.

They tend to trend up with the exception of summers 2008 & 2009. The best time to get cheap rent is in December.
