We haven't had a balanced budget in over 3 years and it's still being called "Bush's" tax cuts?

I'm still waiting for Reagan's trickle down.

Yes, way over three years. Last time we ran a budget surplus was in 2001. FYI, we also ran a surplus in 2000, 1999 and 1998.
Yes they will be called the "Bush" tax cuts for as long as the tax cuts that were initiated by him are on the books.

Unbelievable ignorance of history.
Bill Clinton vetoed 13 Republican budgets and even shut the government down to force his agenda. He wasn't overridden a single time. Republicans LOST every budget battle with Clinton and were forced to accept many reforms including increases in the minimum wage, cuts in the military, and increases in numerous government programs.
Facts are very troublesome when you're a Republican. There's no political ideology anymore on the right. It's all a religion.

No, the surplus was due to the highly productive economy introduced by the Internet and the developers working their asses off building that Wonder of the World. The Internet increased income and thus the income tax.
When business allows people to be productive by opening up the production channels, people produce and spend, and governments get more than sufficient tax revenue. And businesses open up production whenever there is a land grab.

Yes I know, the Bush tax cuts were a terrible idea and they are a national embarrassment. The extension of these cuts is very disappointing.
Yes the tax cuts are no longer "on" Bush's plate, but because he developed and advocated them they will always bear his name regardless of whoever uses them in the future. Perhaps Obama will develop his own tax cuts and you can call them "the Obama Tax Cuts."
It is kind of like the Pythagorean theorem. Regardless of who uses it, the theorem will always bear the name of the person who developed and put forth the idea.

They are the Bush tax cuts, because Bush is the one that cut the effing taxes. It's that simple.
Obama has thus far maintained the status quo. Although he has advocated for increasing the highest tax bracket, he has not been able to achieve it.
Obama's did get the payroll tax cut through, and that will continue to be attributed to him.

Captain,
We are still getting a 2% reprieve on payroll taxes due to Obama.

Everyone benefits from low tax rates.
Ask the average guy in the street in Switzerland. He's doing OK with their low tax rates.
No one deserves my money more than I do. You don't. Your pet "victims" of society don't either.

What I hear you saying is that you hate America. That is if you believe that under current circumstances or under no circumstances taxes should go a fraction of the way higher toward where they were in our heyday.
You're okay with driving up deficits and destroying this country for the sake not of your own self interest, but for the greedy self interest of your overlords.
