I couldn't agree more, but taxes are supposed to originate in the House of Representatives, not the senate. And the whole purpose of that is that taxation is something that needs to be decided by the people, who are better represented by their representatives than their senators since representatives are more accountable to their local constituents. So, why wasn't the individual mandate struck down since it was the senate's plan that passed, not the house's?
