Government has no concern about money, efficiency or the end result. The reason? They have no skin in the game. They are playing with other peoples money and could care less about the result of their irresponsible behavior.

Out of money? Do what any good communist or socialist would do...engage in class warfare and TAX THE RICH !!

After all, the rich didn't earn it fairly, or they inherited it, or they got it from unearned income or dividends at 0% tax, right?

The USA as a whole is in a similar position to Stockton. You can't give everything to everyone without consequences. Free food, subsidized housing, free medical care, free dental care, free head start, free car from Government Motors, free gas from those evil oil companies, free insurance from the lizard, on and on and on. Utopia doesnt' exist. There is no such thing as a free lunch. Gezzz - why can't you libs understand simple cause and effect concepts?????

"Tax the rich" is political newspeak lingo which really means tax everyone but make it look like only the rich will pay.

It collapsed out of common greed at all levels of government. They spent a lot of money they didn't have, they gave out very luxurious benefits to government unions... they had it coming.

Human brain consists of three layers - the core, reptilian (bite, eat, grab, chase, run), mammal (some basic foundation of caring for your offsprings and pack members), and third, human layer, with the ability to analyze, predict, and think analytically.

Governments, and Public Unions in particular, haven't evolved past the Reptilian level. Grab what you can, while you can! Hike public salaries! Assign enormous pensions and benefits to yourself!

You ask - but what will happen some years down the roads, when your benefits bankrupt the cities, states, and countries? Reptilian layer is incapable processing this question.

They are capable, they just don't care. Basic human greed. It's why our society is falling apart so much, too many people are gaming the system.

And it was always this way, I think before the advent of the internet we were all just less aware of it, and US did have a monopoly on everything in the world as the last standing empire.

But today, only thing left is the transfer of wealth mechanisms. From our children, to the government unions and the old boys club.

FortWayne - agreed on most points. One gentle argument - human greed is one thing, but complete disregard and lack of concern is quite another.

Anyone greedy has brains and would at least think: "hey, if I grab too much, if I put a boot on a throat of taxpayer so hard that the latter will just revolt, stop working, or move away, what then??? Who will support my old greedy behind then? Shouldn't I at least slow down a bit, maybe grab little less, but have more chance of feeding on this for a longer future"?

No, these people are not human. They are reptiles.

Absolutely. Feels like human decency went out the window at some point.
