Comrade, when the whole thing financiallly collapses under its own weight, based on trying to give everything to everyone (The Utopia Myth) and the government runs out of other peoples money - what will you call it then, Socialism or Communism?

Maybe, after the empire collapses, I will be a refugee raising sheep in NZ (if they will have me!).

The end will be near when educated smart people start choosing first to work abroad, rather than here. I don't see this happening - (but I'm not really that educated OR smart! ha!). ANyone seeing this? Maybe the student loan bubble will cause this with students who have real degrees - they could go to yerp, get a real job, default on debt - leaving us with only phych, chicano studies, women studies, and other useless degree holders who only want a government job anyway.

Anyway we are still on a 'ponzi growth phase' so it will be nice for a while until the CCCP style collapse. At that point you wont be able to easily leave with assets, maybe only your 'skills' and whatever diamonds you can shove you know where. This was the plight of the soviet union breakup wasnt it? No one could 'sell their home and emigrate with cash' - doesnt work that way at end game , does it.

Well I did.... choose to work abroad. And there are others. But educated smart people still have it pretty well in the USA too. It's blue collar labor that has it better elsewhere, but can't emigrate.
