Clambo, you're probably not dumb, so please don't fall for the "divide and conquer" strategy that is being used against you.

When you say "liberal" you're falling into that trap. Example to prove the trap exists:

Everyone in congress opposed to gay marriage is also opposed to inheritance taxes. Why is that? What does gay marriage actually have to do with inheritance taxes?

Gay marriage and inheritance tax issues are unrelated, but the gay marriage issue sucessfully divides the population into "liberal" and "conservative". The liberal vs conservative thing is poisoned bait to get you to not examine what else your candidate supports.

So congressmen campaign on gay marriage, but they're really funded by the ultra-rich as a way to sneak in laws reducing inheritance taxes.

The people dividing us are ones taking money from productive people and giving it to their favorite campaign donors like the Koch brothers.

So you are right that there is unfair redistribution of wealth going on, from the middle class to the ultra rich and it's 100 times bigger than any redistribution from the middle class to the poor.

First things first: stop the ultra-rich from stealing your money by twisting our laws, and recover the opportunity for you to succeed based on your own merits rather than on who your parents were. Without that, you'll just be ranting about liberals right into the poorhouse.

    Honest Abe says

Patrick, isn't this why America needs limited, constitutional government?

Not sure what you mean by "limited" and "constitutional" but I suspect you mean "without social security or medicare" and "letting states enact racist laws". That's typically what those two codewords mean.

What we really need is publicly funded congressional campaigns so that congressmen can represent normal people rather than just the ultra-rich like the Koch brothers.

Get used to it. Because of Citizens United and the Republican party's determination, our government of the people is about over. They want an entrenched aristocracy running the world and they aren't shy about it.

Where do the democrats fit into all this? Are they trying to save us from the republicans, they just aren't very good at it? Are youu telling me that the democrats don't benefit from, and participate in, the same systems that steal from the working class, fuck all to the poor, for their own personal gains and profits?

Koch family aren't the once protesting around and buying our politicians so that they can keep on being entitled entitled to stealing or spiking their pensions when the state can't afford to even provide basic services.

In CA Koch aren't the problem, it's "we the people" who suck.

I always find it hilarious that those that shout "KOCH BROTHERS" in a rant, get REAL quiet-like, when someone brings up Soros, HuffPo, Union-funded campaign donations exclusively for Democrats, ACORN, etc. Getting your knickers in a twist because of a level playing field? News Flash: Both sides of the isle are doing it......Don't throw the stone, if yer livin in a glass house, I sez...... Is the system perfect? Hell no. But if you are going to complain about the Koch Bros, then Soros should be in the same sentence....

How about we really fix the system for all sides and ban all private campaign donations from Kock, Soros, corporations, unions, etc.

100% PUBLIC campaign finance is the only way for our congressmen to be able to serve ordinary people and not be beholden to some special interest or other.

Public campaign finance is the obvious solution to our broken system, and it's pretty easy to implement. Why don't we try it?

Voters still had to vote for him to win.
Liberals want things both ways. They want to TAKE money from productive people and give it to their favorite victims of society, fate, the world, etc.
Yet they constantly say that money will poison the political process.
Obama and they are hypoctrites: When Obama ran in the primary he said he would use the money available from the govt. only. Then, he determined he could get more money from other sources, and so he broke this promise.

You think he got elected by picking on fat people, or calling them stupid, or what about trying to convince his constituents that this the worst country in the world, and they deserve lower pay?

Nah I don't think so either.

They play the same games, just not quite as openly.

The real key is to get PUBLIC CAMPAIGN FINANCE so that ordinary people have a chance of being elected, instead of just well-connected or easily bribed people.

    Agree.

How can we make this happen? Do we "get the message out" via Dramatic Chipmunk videos?

Yes. Democrats push for campaign finance reform. Democrats push for a return to progressive taxes. Democrats were against Citizens United.

The reason they are ineffective is because voters keep poisoning government with Republicans. 41 Republican Senators will ALWAYS prevent ANY reforms from passing. There's no such thing as compromise for a Republican. It's all slash and burn now.

Can you imagine if a Republican candidate ever got traction from Social networks like Obama did in 2008 before he threw his gullible following under the bus? The Liberals would be demanding someone pull the plug on the Internet.

Romney isn't any different than Obama anyway, at least on "hot button" issues like gay marriage and health care.

    http://www.theonion.com/video/romney-to-travel-back-in-time-to-kill-liberal-vers,27788/

The only difference is that Romney will do the bidding of his fellow top one-percenters.

"How will Romney be superior to Obama?"

He's going to lower taxes, while lowering the deficit.

He's going to repeal Obamacare, and put in something equally disastrous, (and I say bravo, good show old boy, I want to see every human being with half a brain protesting in the streets, on every corner in America for "Socialized Medicine", because we're not allowed to call it "national healthcare". )

He's got business skills, Mitt is not a community Organizer, he plays for realzies, none of this play play shit. Mitt is more suited to actually put people to work over Obama.

Mitt has all of his credentials in order, so if God forbid someone was to ask him for his papers(you know, just to be sure he's who he says he is)
Mitt will have his shit together and have a Birth Certificate, it wont consume two-three years of American politics. Who in the Hell walks around with out proper identification? Obama is like a 20 something, I bet he's a month behind on his Rent-A-Center bill.

I'd prefer to only have C-Span be the only vehicle where candidates can campaign and or debate. News outlets are forbidden from hyping any candidate or smearing for that matter. They would be encouraged to keep a watch out for campaign fraud or system abuse how ever.

People want to follow candidates then they tune into C-SPAN.
Each candidate is given a blog page on their state or county elections website.

I think if people have to make a concentrated effort to understand their candidate, then the quality of those candidates will go up.
