That is crazy. Seems to lack appreciation of the fragile nature of life.

Yeah I'd never do that. The fear part of my brain works too well.

Yeah you never know when a flash flood might cause the water level to rise suddenly.

I must be old because I watch this video and think, "God damn these kids are stupid!".

I'm thinking there is some kind of wall there (under water) that makes it not as crazy as it seems.
But still,....who was the first one who figured that out ?

There is. That's why the water in the "devil's pool" isn't moving.

Of course it's only effective when the water level is low enough.
Who figured it out first? Probably some teenage kid.
Sometimes I really miss my immorality. And my high metabolism.

Makes me wonder how many that is per swimmer.

Do they die from going over the falls or from some tropical disease?

Sepsis due to all the other swimmers who crapped their pants when looking over the edge?

It did not say, but apparently the footing in the pool is very slippery.

A little danger is what makes it fun.
This summer I went to a family reunion in Ireland and we all went out to Dun Aengus on Aran Mor, an island off the coast. It's on a 300 foot cliff and you can waltz (or trip) right off the edge. No warning, nothing. In America, there would be several fences ruining the view.

Hmmm...my brain doesn't work that way.
So what would Darwin say? Is my brain "more evolved" to detect and avoid danger? ;-)

Hey Patrick,
My Father told me they put a stop to those who would dangle friends by the ankles so they could kiss the "Blarney Stone" Did you dangle ?

No, didn't get down there, just Dublin and Galway, and Aran Mor.

When I was growing up, there was a dam with a diversion to a irrigation canal. Kids used to dive blind about 15 feet to the gate to the canal, then shoot out it with the force of the water. Somehow, we all lived, even tho the opening wasn't very large.
Kids don't appreciate the fragility of life.
