Why is the Liberal press always betting against America?

    I know, I know, there's data...

    Yep, great article.

European, Asian, and African students are smashing down our doors to enroll in our colleges and universities, not just the Ivy League schools but public universities as well. They don't even mind paying the ludicrously high tuition in cash.

Doesn't sound like our education system sucks to me. We have the best STEM education in the world, without exception. A country is lucky if they have just one school that can even be considered in the same league as MIT or Sanford. I think Germany and Japan might have one for their entire country.

Well, I didn't see the article as "Betting against Merica'". But there has to be at least some "Liberal Media" to counter the enormous and much larger forms of conservative media that people enjoy gobbling up and regurgitating to one another.

Seriously? Ok, well I'll let you answer your own question: Please tell us all what networks and shows you listen to and watch.

    HBO
Discovery (less and less actually its more about reality shows than learning.)
    CNN
sometimes the local channel 7 news(but that is strictly local idiot reports, they never venture into national or international news, much less politics)

Though really most of the time if I'm in front of the T.V. if ever, I'm usually working on my computer, or arguing with the Patnet denizens and luddites.

In my car I listen to NPR either WLRN or WDNA.

On the web I read CNN.com

I'm pretty sure you don't even know how to use the term "luddite" correctly. Try again.

And if you think the linked article was about betting against America, I suggest working on your reading comprehension (in addition to your vocabulary usage).

You're right there's nothing wrong with beating down our youth telling them they aren't worthy of the opportunities this Nation has to offer, and convincing them that the only way they'll ever succeed is to take on a debt they'll never pay off, and drill into them that should go to college and expect a 25K salary when they graduate.

They did Vote this bastard in office and deserve all the change that dick move affords them.

A lot of it is about getting an American job and getting to live in America because of it. People don't want to go to our colleges that badly, they just want to live here.

While I agree this country is getting worse and worse because of the greed of the 0.1% and the global competition, I have not heard many sob stories of people with straight A's who work hard that can't find a good job. America has always and will always reward intelligent people who work hard. The problem is it rewards slimy greaseballs even more.

For some, yes. But even the overseas branches of US Schools - from very C-grade State Universities to Tiny Liberal Arts Colleges in Bumscrew nobody's ever heard of - get swamped with applicants. Since these are overseas branches, there is no coming to the US and no visa.

Everybody around the world wants the prestige of having a US-affiliated degree. "American School" is a worldwide symbol of Quality and Prestige.

I do this for a living, and the size and budgets of the events we put on - that match the schools with students - increases by double digit percentages each and every year.

Egypt, China, India, Qatar, etc - branches of US Colleges are just about everywhere.

I remember that too. A lot of foreigners keep enrolled just so they can legally stay here on their student Visa. I knew several folks who had 7 or 8 Associate degrees and kept going for more. They didn't make it a secret either, they were open about doing it for the Visa.
