Socialized medicine allows the common to feel it is free, while thousands of gubmint middle men meddle for an ever growing piece of the tax profit.

Orin Hatch would have more than his present zero credibility if he talked about what he would cut other than taxes in order to bring government spending back into line. He's for the balanced budget amendment, but hasn't voted once against tax cuts, military spending increases, or bailouts for business. Does he expect the tooth fairy to balance the budget. He's a senator, doesn't he know it's his job.

What does socialized medicine (I'm assuming you mean obamacare, if so please do some research on the word socialized) have to do with the expiration of bush's tax cuts? Did you read any of the article past the headline?

Do you realize that the tax increases under Obamacare are a small fraction of the tax increases Clinton imposed in 1993?

Taxmageddon or a bunch of spoiled zealots whipped into a frenzy by Newscorp?

If only part of taxpayers get a tax break, could that be called socialism?
If all taxpayers get a tax break, could that be called communism?

It doesn't even COVER the 22 taxes and the unaffiliated taxes (hyper-increases in premiums) inflicted on the economy. As usual, you are just schilling for the Obama Campaign.

Right.......so show us. Link something. Stop pulling arguments out of your ass and actually provide some support.

Why? All you've provided was partisan crap from Ezra Klein who was pretending to be a real journalist.

Very typical of reality-denying zealots. It's much easier to simply deny the source than to produce your own information.

In fact someone probably spent weeks doing research and calculations to create that graph, yet you're going to dismiss it out of hand AND pretend that your blind assertions and total lack of support is still somehow superior.

You're the poster boy for the Republican party Shrek.

We are looking at $525 BILLION -- according to the CBO at the time it was passed -- in tax increases between 2010 and 2019.

OH LORDY, NOT $525 BILLION OVER 10 YEARS!!!!!! That's almost 60% of what we spend on the military in 1 year! How will we survive?
    Ruki says

THAT is the largest tax increase in U.S. History.

Only if you're ignorant of history.

Iwog, I'm beginning to develop a theory of Lunatic Politics. I believe it explains dynamics better than Marx.

The lumpenproles and the very wealthy have plenty of time to sit around and be paranoid and come up with oppression fantasies, and are isolated with their own kind, who further feed their political phatasmagoria:

Rednecks in a tiny town; Urban Minorities in the Ghetto; and WASPs in the Country Club. "The Mexicans/Jews/Koreans/Blacks/Whites are evil scum and are plotting to take over the world/have more welfare babies/overcharge me for my '40/keep the (ethnic group) down/screw my daughter/spread atheism/disease/destruction/greed." or "This 1% tax increase just a couple of years after a 10% tax cut is SOCIALISM!!!!" or "I earned all this money myself when the lawyer read the will in my room at the Betty Ford Clinic for Cocaine Abuse. I shouldn't have to pay 15% capital gains on the dividends I receive from stocks my Grandfather left me! I earned it by virtue of being a Ritzenbokker! FREEDOM!!!"

Everybody else is too busy working and dealing with a wide array of tasks and people to have such "Luxury".

Fail, try again. Obamacare isn't even in the ballpark of some of the WWII increases.

Ah yes...the standard liberal escape from Logic: 'Relative' tax increases.

Just like how you all consider obese people with three tvs and two cars to be 'poor' in America, too.

    Sorry, 'relative' doesn't cut it.

You brought up relative tax increases. YOU said this was the biggest tax increase in history, which is a claim in relation to all other tax increases in history. Do you need some help with what relative means?

How about you just admit to being wrong and go back to watching Fox?

Do you have a clue what relative means? Obviously not. In either inflation adjusted dollars or as a percentage of gdp obamacare is not the largest tax increase in history no matter how many times rush repeats it. Fail.

Not in the screwed up way that you and Bob mean by 'relative'. See above.

Gotcha. So when you say "biggest tax increase in history" what you really meant was history in a parallel universe that has no relevance (relative) to our universe.

    Makes sense. Nice work Shrek.

    Ruki says

his from a guy who can't figure out that 'lowering' is not the same thing as 'abolishing' when speaking of taxes?

The Ryan plan abolishes taxes on investment. I think your failure here is to understand exactly what you're voting for when you throw it away on the Republican party.

If the Democrats want to attract more regular folks, they should come out against calls to Boycott Chic-Fil-A. But of course, they won't.

These cultural/social issues really do matter to many people.

Some are, but I agree that this doesn't help the liberal cause any. Of course this controversy has been ramped up to a hysterical pitch by Newscorp and Clearchannel so it's hard to say how many Democrats are actually siding with Chic.

Obamacare has many new taxes and anyone who doesn't think a new 3.8% tax on them should feel free to burn 3.8% of their income in the street every month to see how it feels.
Watching it burn up will bring it into perspective since to many "another 3.8%" is so small.
No new tax is small and no tax increase is a good plan during a depression.
This situation is a mild and protracted depression caused by the bursting of an asset fueled by credit.

True, but it's not just them. Yahoo! news and others love to put "hot button" stuff like that on their sites to generate clicks. There's plenty of "passion" out there even w/o Fox News fanning the flames.
