    Well, $2.5M doesn't sound like much, considering what companies like Accretive make in a year, but it's a small victory.

    What rights? You mean the right to get treated in ER with no insurance, no job, no way to pay and then stick the hosptial with the unpaid bill which raises insurance rates for us all - and the whole time the non paying person had a valid credit card on them in ER but the hospital 'didnt want to be rude and ask to be paid' for thier services?

    bullshit.
    at least if they charge it on a credit card and default then banks lose money and not the hospital - I think thats great!

    Accretive operates within the IHC health system in Utah. It's a horrible health system, has a corner on the market and drives out any attempted competitors - is non-profit yet uses heavy handed collection tactics.
