    depending on the severity of the crime.

    Mandatory minimums have contributed in the last 20 years to the near tripling of federal prisoners, with more than half the prisoners now in for drug crimes.

    Me:
    Well, I for one am glad to see all those dopers put away where they can learn even more psychopathic behaviors, not get treated for their drug addiction, and score from the guards.

    Let's keep privatizing prisons and keep the focus away from treating the real problem of addiction...
