This is the logic of any failed policy, especially failed wars: step one, use force; if that fails, use more force. Never admit failure. There is light at the end of the tunnel. It helped bail out banks by propping up house prices, excusing bankers for criminal fraud ("robo-signing" as if done by machines, when it was done by humans who should be prosecuted under RICO), while at the same time more than a million families were evicted in foreclosure including more than a million children, and propped up banks keep houses empty while hundreds of thousands remain homeless. What a relief!
