I have nuked the account of Ruki, who was previously nuked as Shrekgrinch. Can't remember if I deleted MarsAttacks.
Anyway, they were all the same person, which I could see from his IP address. Leo707 was right about that. Good call.
I tried to be patient but even after many warnings I got up this morning to see yet one more inane anti-Obama image barely concealing Ruki's intense racism, so fuck that. I'm done with patience.
Good riddance to Ruki and all his ilk.

While I think that is is obviously legitimate and necessary to criticize politicans if one disagrees with their policies, I believe that a large degree of antipathy that is driven towards Barack is driven by race. It is almost as if his race and cultural background serves as oil in a frying pan to many of those who oppose him. I am confident that if Barack had a a background as a white liberal professor combined with his current record as president that the antipathy and contempt towards him would have been way less from his opponents.

I think that's true of the rank-n-file religious nuts in the Republican Party, but as for the people calling the shots in the Republican Party, I think Clinton disproves that theory.
The rich, powerful republicans just hate all democrats because they stand in the way of turning America into a two-class society: a ruling class and an economic slave class. These ruling members of the party wanted to impeach Clinton for any reason, a point made clear by the fact they that used a blow job as an excuse for trying to remove a president from office. That's basically a failed coup attempt without the violence.
Given all the shit that Clinton had to put up with, I'm sure there's a lot on non-race based hatred and lies in the Republican Party. Heck, just take a look at the postings of the right wingers on this site. They always talk about liberals as if we're trying to destroy America because we believe in Habeas Corpus.
Of course, the non-racist Republicans have no problem using racism to get the others to vote for them. But the bottom line is that you got two distinct kinds of Republicans who are only in the same party to defeat the opposition. One type wants to get rid of all non-whites from America. The other type wants to concentrate all wealth and power into an aristocracy. The only thing these two groups have in common is that they must defeat rational forces to win.

Having a black president is making a lot of people crazy. It manifests itself in the Birther movement.

He is not Black. He is Mulatto or Bi-racial or mixed. His white mother and grandparents raised him and his father did not want to know him so he is more white than anything.

I agree with your premise, but I think Clinton was an unusual case too. He was never considered "one-of-them", since he was poor, white trash, hillbilly. He also posed an existential threat to them with his DLC style.
That's why, not unlike the birther movement, he was subject to his own form of de-legitimizing, along with wild accusations about hookers, blow and the "murder" of Vince Foster.
A regular Democrat would have just been mocked incessantly a la Gore or Kerry. Nasty Lee Atwater style nonsense, to be sure, but not meant to question their "right" to be President, just their inability to be one as a (D).

Speculation on my part, but the way Ruki was posting (volume, inane talking points) it really looked like he was one of those guys who gets paid to post on blogs and keep right leaning threads at the top. Saw an interview a year or so ago about a guy who just sat home and posted crap on blogs and was raking in enough $$ to live on. Kind of like this:
http://www.plunderbund.com/2011/01/31/exclusive-jon-keeling-was-a-paid-11000-in-campaign-consultant-fees-by-the-ohio-republican-party-while-claiming-to-be-nothing-more-than-a-political-blogger/

There's a tineye.com plugin for Firefox that lets you right-click an image to do a reverse-image search. Or you can just copy-n-paste the image URL in the form on tineye.com.

The problem with that url is that you typed in "https" instead of just "http".
The https means "get encrypted content" but I don't have any encrypted content, so your browser shows you that error message.
Just use http://patrick.net/forum/?p=1216472 instead and it should work fine. (The www is optional, but I prefer not using that.)

Saw the article. First of all, it is from "Business Insider," which isn't CNN or any of the alphabets or yahoo news.
I don't see the harm in quoting an article. If anyone read it, they would see that it was corrected to include a quote from Obama saying pretty much the same thing.
Alotta to do about nothing.
