Do the math. 12/13 is 6th. It is typical for people to graduate high school and start college at the ages of either 17 or 18 largely depending on when in the year they are born. Thus it's typical for people to end 8th grade and start high school at 13 or 14. At least that's the way it is in blue states. Maybe red states are a few years behind.

The original post was deleted before I could read it, so I don't know what the context of this post was about or to whom she was addressing. However, I can say with quite certainty that almost all parents don't want their daughters having sex in junior high, high school, or college. However, that doesn't change reality. Parents in general cannot handle the fact that their kids are sexual beings just like kids can't handle the fact that their parents are sexual beings. Each generation thinks it invented sex and that their parents never did it and their kids surely aren't going to do it. Each generation is delusional. I would rather arm the kids with as much information and wisdom as possible before they make long-term life decisions. And doing that requires acknowledging reality no matter how uncomfortable.

I ended up entering college at 16. What sucked the most was being told I had to go to the local high school to get a work permit. Also, having a curfew was a bit confusing to me and my college mates.
