There are many houseboats floating around San Francisco Bay. Take a bike ride south of the SF Giants stadium and you'll see a bunch:

    $ 5 to $ 10 per foot in high rent areas? No way. Those are yacht club prices. In one of San Diego's marinas, we pay close to $ 30 per foot. Yacht clubs in the area are much cheaper but the waiting lists are years and the fees to join are very costly. Do some checking around and you will find that dock fees are expensive.
