ALERT ON NOV. 16: Delaware and several other states are experiencing technical issues with their Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) system. This means EBT cards are being denied at retailers, the state is unable to issue cards and other technical issues. DHSS will provide an update as soon as one is available. In the meantime, we apologize for any inconvenience.

Florida Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card holders are not able to use their cards for normal processing at grocery, convenience and other stores today due to technical problems.
EBT cards are used by recipients of cash and food assistance for purchases in approved stores. With the system down, stores can choose to run a manual processing of up to $40. Wal-Mart stores have the ability to process manual transactions of up to $100.

The problem, state officials said, is due to a JPMorgan Chase outage. There’s no word on when the technical issues will be resolved.
