Somehow the user who goes by "War" got ahold of the spam button and marked 384 legitimate comments as spam.

All those comments are back and visible again.

But user War is nuked, hopefully never to return.

Darryl in Phoenix is also nuked.

The forum will be much better off without them.

Iwog is actually a good poster, but I think with me personally he tends to turn into a troll. I do enjoy reading his post with other members who quote him, so I can actually see the discourse.

It's something I've been doing on the 2-3 forums I visit. If someone just becomes too abrasive, and every exchange is more akin trolling instead of discourse, I ignore them. However because other people can quote their post (which I can see), I usually (let's say 95% of the time) only get the real discussion type post from that poster. For instance I had ignored SFace for a while because it was getting unhealthy with personal insults, etc, then I got to read some of his post with other posters where it wasn't getting personal, and I eventually unignored him based on those post.

It started as a good discussion, then it degenerated, which was too bad. Then I noticed the pattern of saying the same comments without any substance other than accusations, and demands for more information. It was a blatant attempt to engage without substance. So I personally look at this as a good thing, but it really is too bad.

I don't care if they insult me, particularly if the insult is creative or noteworthy... when I look at my posts from 2004 about the housing bubble, though my instincts were correct, I didn't have a fundamental understanding of bubbles. I didn't know which factors were important to study which weren't. Heated online arguments would force me to dig further, research other bubbles, study the economics and history etc. My posts a year later where much deeper, and in fact, though 99% of everyone I talked to thought I was crazy, as I delved further into each counter point, I went from being paranoid about a bubble, to fundamentally convinced we were in one. That is what led me to sell my properties then. So, arguing online has probably saved me a half a million dollars. I'll take all of the online insults ever for that! I just don't like being called a liar, when I'm actually calling things as i see them, and posting facts... that's how I see it, but I am going to attempt to refrain myself from calling people names, and be more humorous in my responses from this point forward.
