This is why I've never found SFH rental very attractive as a business. The headaches, vacancy worries, etc simply aren't worth it unless you are the type of person who can without any hit to your moral compass walk away from the home when the investment goes bad. Unfortunately, unlike stocks where the hit is immediate and painful when things go south, the risk of losing the home is minimal with today's save housing "administration". I think the debt forgiveness act expiring will go some way in curing that though. The potential harm of having to pay 28% of a $100,000 - $200,000 short sell windfall will cause people to rethink their decisions, and unlike banks, the IRS always gets their pound of flesh. That's how they got Al Capone.

In a few weeks, it will be a squat for cannibal neonazis and the owners, if they're still around, or the banksters holding the dead note.

Roberto,
Had you ignored yup you never would have seen this thread.
W'up Yup??? We all know Roberto is a bit arrogant and boastful. He is also smart. He is probably telling the truth of what he does and what he BELIEVES. It works for him for now.

I want to see the Roberto vs Yup real life brawl in the parking lot. Roberto looks like he keeps in shape through hiking, and biking with his hot, young girlfriend in the deserts of Phoenix.
BUT
Yup seems like a typical tough guy, rides a Harley, is a HUGE dude.
Forget libel and lawyers, this fight could be interesting.

yup, do you think you could take roberto in a fight, no weapons, hand to hand based on the pictures you've seen?

Well, that went nowhere fast.
It looks like the liar here was yup1.
Why put up something that your own data disproves?
From what I see that is a pretty nice house, and maybe worth the $145K he paid, I don't know, but I like it.
For sure some one will rent it.

Yup,
This is low. You couldn't beat a man debating him so you use this technique? I agree with the professor that Roberto is a bit arrogant, but what you did is really low. If you don't have anything constructive to say, don't say anything at all. It's sad that you chose this approach. If you still have some dignity, delete this thread immediately.

Libel is any intentional misrepresentation of the facts in order to lower the perception of character.
Intention is obvious, which just leaves misrepresentation of the facts. If you are lying about the rental in a public forum, and it affects the market decision of one of Roberto's clients, you can very easily be sued for damages.
I read about successful lawsuits from false Yelp misrepresentations all the time. The plaintiff is almost always successful.
It's all fun and games until you become a real person with a traceable IP address, isn't it Yup?

Roberto, why don't you two settle it in a boxing ring. Winner has to pay the other guy $1,000 cash.

Man, this is getting more exciting by the second.
In this corner, a 50 year old math professor who keeps in shape by biking and hiking in the desert sun.
In this corner, a 280 pound giant who rides Harleys! He probably has tats, and wears a vest.
I can't wait to see it. I'll buy my ticket right now.

That's what ruined it for you? Not that some dickhead was calling another a liar, stalking his posts and attacking him at every opportunity - on this thread, and on others? It wasn't offensive that he specifically started a thread personally attacking another user? That the conversation became less about being called a liar, and more about fighting?
Then there was mention of the possibility of a man, long dead, who had dedicated his life to promoting peace fighting a Patnet user, who has dedicated his Patnet life to brandishing a sword and fighting apocolyptic zombies. Possibly vampires and werewolves too; I haven't taken the time to read the fourth book in the Twilight saga, "Apocolyptic Moon is Shostakovich." But I digress - THAT didn't relegate this discussion to the gutter?
I'll tell you what did it for me:
robertoaribas says
He used the wrong "road" - he meant "rode." And he left out "to" in front of the word "show."
A transsexual cage match that includes a biker and a math professor (as long as he wears the funky robes and flat hat) is fine, as long as they use proper english.

Maybe we could turn it into something like a wrestling match, where you can tag in or out. 4 Bulls vs 4 bears. Winning team gets to squat in a vacant REO for 2 years with no out of pocket. I'll buy the whole front row. ;)
