FYI: Oakley, Antioch, Brentwood, is the areas of Mello-Roos Assessment, which makes property taxes often higher than in Vermont or TX. Additionally, is not tax deductible.

I believe they reversed it and Mello Roos is deductible for 2012 and beyond. I haven't seen a case where the Mello Roos brought the total property tax bill over 2% yet.

$450-500 sq/ft is the price with land. Since new houses are recently built by large development company, 99% are cookie cutters or so called semi-custom if more options are utilized.
