It's not a bad place to live, we just have a propensity for electing crappy people.
I mean really really really shitty people, you would have to sift through mounds and mounds, of apacolypsfuck's shit piles on evil realtor's faces, to find worse people.

God, I love RT News. The video is spot on. Why is it that RT News and the fictional news team on Newsroom (US) are the only places to get real news on the US in the US?

If you're not willing to do the work, just shut up. It was trivially easy for me to find independent confirmation of the claims made by this video. (See next few postings.)

Yes, right now the US has barely passed Finland to claim 27, but the above website is using live data.

Claim: US ranks 28th in life expectancy (incorrect tagline says "health")
confirmed
The reporter says 28th in life expectancy, although the tagline reads "health". I'd say this is a reasonable mistake in the tagline, not deception. For the claim itself, it's confirmed.

Claim: US has least asylum seekers taken.
This claim is vague. It sounds like its talking total numbers, but that wouldn't make sense because larger countries (by land area, GDP, or population) would have a higher absolute number for a given level of generosity. If that is what was meant, which is logical, then confirmed. Although the US takes a lot of asylum seekers (a whopping 86 per year), for its size by any metric that's pretty damn small.

Claim: US causes the most environmental damage
confirmed
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2010/05/100505092006.htm
I would have gone with damage per capita rather than damage proportional to available resources, but that would have made the US look even worse.

Assholes.
DOn't they understand we have the 2nd Amendment so we can threaten to shoot doctors who don't give us health care and to hold up drug stores for drugs.
By this measure, we're the best so shut the fuck up.

You are so full of shit it's amazing. First you claim that the RT News statistics are complete bullshit. Then when I go one by one over them proving them with independent sources, you flip-flop faster than John Kerry at the International House of Pancakes and claim that the stats are true just to give credit to misleading conclusions. And that's equally ridiculous. The conclusion is that the U.S. isn't the greatest fucking place in the world by various objective measurements. And that conclusion is correct.
But if you prefer the Hollywood version...

We could definitely do better in terms of life expectancy. We are ranked 51st in the world. Even countries with "death panels" such as U.K. are outperforming us on that metric. However, it seems to me that in United States it is easier to achieve a certain level of comfort/complacency that manifests itself via large houses or apartments relatively affordable big screen TVs, suburbia phenomenon, relatively cheap gasoline and better prices cars for same quality that can make living here very addictive.

I have not seen the video yet, so I don't know if RT specifies "violence" or "murder."
Yes, the US is the best at murder, but as discussed in this thread there are many other developed countries that are more "violent" than the US. They just beat people up rather than a good ol' American killing.

That and we throw more people in jail than any nation on earth. The land of the free jails more of its populace per capita or by any measure than any nation on earth.

The US is the best place to be rich, because it's so easy to confuse the public here about real productivity (which deserves to be rewarded) and mere non-productive rent-seeking (which does not deserve anything).
The poor here think the rich are entitled to eternal rents without working. And they think themselves lazy or unworthy for not having successfully exploited others the way they themselves are being exploited.
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...

I've traveled quite a bit. More people are miserable here than most other places. In fact, I found that the people who seem to enjoy life and family the most don't have very much. I remember having great times vacationing in Santo Domingo DR, and yes, its a rougher area and its not heaven on earth, but mingling with regular people was a real eye opener. Chile as well. This places sucks, and there are times when I think to run up and max out credit, buy a bunch of krugerrands and get the hell out of here and retire to a real life.

Yeah, I don't know what it is. Maybe in other places, it is more family oriented and so people don't feel so isolated? I see people in slums and they are so happy-in their own way. Maybe they accept their lot and so are content?? But here reality changes so often, that at some point nothing makes sense anymore-except that it will change again.

I guess, but I still say propublica is one of the best. Far superior in factual evidence compared to Fox, MSNBC and CNN. Won pulitzer prizes in investigative and national journalism in 2011 and 2010, respectively.

Yep, anti-gay bigotry is alive and well in Russia. As for the short article, it does not go into any depth and seems like an op-ed piece. If it's not than this is the first article I've seen that is statist propaganda, something all too typical in the U.S.
Of course, this is the first article about Russia other than the recent meteor strike that I've read from RT News. The RT News posted by me and others on this site have all been about the U.S. and those articles and videos have always been factually correct and the truth not misrepresented at all.
