I’m not surprised. EVERYTHING in life today is a spin to get you to give your money to someone else. If you’re a realtor, it’s always a good time to buy. A Dr., be sure to see me before you exercise. If you’re a life insurance salesman- you may die tomorrow. If you own a TV station- don’t change that dial. EVERYTHING and everyone has their prime directive to get you to give them your money. The best one. IF you send me your money, God will give you eternal life. Thank you Jesus.

Geez, enough already! Just TUNE IT ALL OUT. It is not so difficult, unless you like being shark bait or you’re just plain weak and too dumb to resist. Man, I am so sick of hearing about the cultural crap Americans put up with, I could scream. Turn off the damned idiot box and use the brain you were born with. Life is not rocket science.

I’m pretty sure Evan F. is pointing out the real estate news headlines that are at odds with one another…
The first one says: $8,000 homebuyers tax credit extended
Then you have: Act fast! Homebuyer tax credit ends soon
And just below that: No decision yet on homebuyer credit
Although it may have been better if he’d made some kind of statement other than WTF?
WTF what, Evan? CNN doesn’t review their site to make sure headlines don’t conflict? Tragic, I know.

Looks like old headlines that were just left in the system. Problem is they show up in the story lineup. Looks foolish.

It certainly doesn’t help their credibility. But then again, there were problems long before these headlines were posted online.

That is far and away the wisest thing I’ve read from you. I don’t understand why people get so outraged over an advertisement, newspaper headline, or RE fliers. There have always been hucksters, and there always will be hucksters. Just keep moving on, folks.

I was browsing through a used bookstore yesterday and found a tome that carefully laid out the argument of why Obama can’t win the election.

I think that home page is a giant NAR/Mortgage broker ad space. Look at the top, an ad for Home Equity loans, then I count no less than 8 positive RE ads/articles.
NAR must have paid a lot of money for CNN prime advertising.

Is anyone sorry to see tinfoil hat wearing Lou Dobbs leave CNN? It took long enough.
He’s not the only problem they have. Wolf Blitzer is about as objective as Lou was only he doesn’t get called out.
I’m not surprised that the corporate hacks at CNN can be bought and sold by any special interest. All news is biased. When will people finally learn to read between the lines and think for themselves?
I stopped watching CNN around the time of Katrina. The sensationalism at the price of people’s dignity turned me off. So, I turned them off.

Wow, never thought it would spark such discussion. I sent the image to Patrick. I merely found it amusing that CNN’s obviously automated news aggregator was dumb enough to include THREE completely conflicting articles on their main Real Estate/Business page. I’ve seen two before, but never three.
Yes, CNN is a lot of crap. I don’t quite get why people hate them more than other news services, seeing as they purchase plenty the same AP wire stuff that other online and print services do. And to answer the notion that the site had nothing but positive RE ads on it, it was take from the ‘Real Estate’ section of CNN Money. What would you expect to see there, ads for tampons? Cereal? I think any- perhaps ALL- of the major news services out there offer a lot of useless or counterproductive information- but also good info too. You just have to read with your eyes wide open, and question everything you’re fed.

THAT’S great. Yeah, CNN SAYS they’re not sorry that he’s leaving. Its going to be fun to watch their ratings fall even further as they lose yet ANOTHER voice that helped keep some semblence of balance in their ranks. The ‘tinfoil hat’ comment would be spot on . . . if he wasn’t asking exactly the correct questions. Particularly when he prefaces his ‘birther’ questions with his own personal fundamental beliefs that Obama is qualified to be President, help me understand what is wrong with his logic. My only question about Dobb’s logic is when we have ZERO access to any documentation that establishes Obama’s eligibility, what in the world did Dobbs BASE his belief of Obama’s eligibility on.
Dobbs will not only rise out of this with a stronger voice, he will also increase somebody’s ratings in the process. America is slowly pulling their collective heads out of the sand. I wouldn’t be surprised to find myself having to refer to thoughtful Americans as ‘10 percenters’ as opposed to ‘5 percenters’ in the forseeable future.

Carrierpigeon,
The logical problem is, that Dobbs should be respected because he talks about the Birther controversy?
There are people who have the opinion the earth is flat. Rational people do not spend time debating the matter.

“NAR must have paid a lot of money for CNN prime advertising.”
Not only in the media but also with Congress.
“The NAR wields substantial power as a lobbying organization on behalf of agents and brokers; in 2005, NAR had the largest Political Action Committee in the United States. According to the Center for Responsive Politics, the association is the United States’ third-largest donor to political campaigns, having given since 1990 more than US$30 million. Of this sum, an average of 47% has gone to Democrats and 53% to Republicans.[15] Key political issues for the group revolve around federal regulation of the financial services industry.”
And of course we all been screaming at the banks, demonizing Wall Street for the problems. Yet it was Wall Street, the Banks and even the FED who bought into the Housing Boom propaganda from the data provided by NAR. It was always the NAR who was invited to sit on public debates by the media or provide some comments on some daily news story concerning the ’state of nations housing’.
Yet even today, the NAR has not even been called into question regarding the role they played as self appointed cheerleaders.

I would like to say its all balogna. Things arent getting better, tax credits dont provide jobs when buying a home, just like all the lies your station tells. Your news reporters are a disgrace to america, ever hear of freedom of speech, tell the truth etc. There is only 1 station that tells it like it is FOX, wake up . In the future there will be another administration, you lying reporters, will have no credibility as you have none now.

I think your confused, FOX is the most divisive network in the country.
A Pew Research poll, released on October 29, 2009, found that Fox News is viewed as the most ideological network in America. The poll, which featured Americans view of various news networks by ideology, scored Fox News the highest of any category with (47%) as “mostly conservative,” (14%) as “mostly liberal,” and (24%) as “neither.” In comparison, MSNBC had (36%) identify it as “mostly liberal,” (11%) as “mostly conservative,” and (27%) as “neither.” CNN had (37%) describe it as “mostly liberal,” (11%) as “mostly conservative,” and (33%) as “neither.”
Try not to associate yourself with the conservative movement, your not doing a good job of representing the cause with facts. Readers of your post will look right through the rhetoric and know that FOX spews a lot of venom.
You stick to being a Republican, while I will stick to promoting conservative thought….I dont need a party to be conservative.

MBA: “How can we cut costs at CNN? Anybody”.
CIO: “Why don’t we spend $10M to build a Content Management System? They’ll look for articles with certain keywords written by columnists from the syndicates we subscribe to, and then put them up on the Front Page automatically.”
MBA: “That’s great! We can save millions on the salaries of editors and their staff! Let my staff come up with a finding that will show all the savings for not having an editor, his staff, the lease on office space, the electric consumed by the light bulb in his office, janitorial services for the office, health insurance, etc. over 15 years and when I do the numbers I’ll write it up to show that much of these savings happened in the current quarter. It’ll make our profit margins look much better for Q3.”
Of course, the CMS can only look for keywords, and is incapable of parsing contradictory info.
