Casey has not yet been properly defeated. He's still out there collecting ad revenue. The job must be finished!

I stayed away from his website because I didn't want to generate any revenue for him from his ads - I don't know how that all works. Any highlights someone could post? Has he offloaded any of his houses etc. How much has he lost now?

I hate the fact that he deliberately commited fraud by submitting mortgage applications all at the same time so that they didn't show up. Please can't one of the mortgage holders go after him?

Casey is just probably someone who wanted to get ahead. He should have been more mindful about potential legal consequences.

He is just one of the many.

    I do not hate him.

    10. Boomers love slowly driving RVs and SUVs on long and windy roads. astrid hates driving behind slow RVs on long and windy roads.
    9. Boomers give a bad name to good unboomers like newsfreak.
    8. Boomers book up too much space in good restaurants and golf courses.
    7. Boomers always say "I did XYZ, why can't you?"
    6. Boomers on medicare, nuff said.
    5. Both Bill Clinton and George W. Bush are boomers. (and Hilary Clinton, and Al Sharpton, and Mark Foley...)
    4. Boomers think their houses are *worth* 30X what they paid for them.
    3. Boomers own too many good vacation properties.
    2. Boomers spend too much money and won't leave anything behind to Gen-Xer/Gen-Yers.
    1. There are too many boomers.

PS - Peter P, no hating of fellow bloggers or self loathing! If it helps, just type stuff you hate about yourself and then substitute "boomer" or "Casey Serin" for "me" "myself" and "I".

Here's wikipedia's entry on Google ads.

I'm guessing that Serin went with payment per thousand views option. He'll need a lot more revenue to bail himself out though.

    Peter P,

If Serin is exposed as a fraud at this point, then I think he deserves lots and lots of kudos. He has the whiney, self-absorbed numbskull Gen-Yer act down pat. If he was just faking, he really should write a reality show about Gen-Yer RE "investor" and sell it to the networks.

    OK astrid,

I wouldn't say I hate boomers or any of their particular quirks. But beyond the obvious (60's drug culture, financial irresponsibility, selfishness, McMansions), I do find some of the more frivolous boomer-associated entities funny, sad, pathetic:

    1) Paying over $100/pop to watch the Stones totter around on stage
    2) Doonesbury - does anyone except boomers actually find that crap funny?
    3) Thinking Steve Jobs is cool
    4) "Forrest Gump" (actually, that's one thing I do indeed hate)
    5) "ThirtySomething" - what a bunch of self-centered whiners!
    6) Popularizing the concept of living on a golf course - why?
    7) Among all the icons of the Boomer Gen, they never seem to tout Richard Simmons, do they?
    8) All those suburban fatsoes riding around in their shiny motorcylces on Skyline every weekend - please, you're DEFINITELY NOT COOL.
    9) Related to #8, all those fatsoes on $5000 bicycles riding around Woodside, PV, or PA wearing those ridiculous multi-colored biking shirts with their paunches poking out, thinking they are actually "athletic."
    10) Any book whose title starts with "Chicken Soup for..."

Yeah! What is up with the Boomers' worship of the Stones, the Eagles and the Beatles. (I love the Beatles but most of their post-breakup stuff is not very good). Somebody really should put a brown paper bag over Mick Jagger's face.

I love the first sentence of the article you posted.

    “Good news for aging hippies……………..”

Ok, now here's something weird: it wasn't me who posted that MJ article. Going by IP, it was Surfer-X. For some strange reason (maybe because we both tried posting simultaneously), WordPress got our identities mixed up and posted it under my name.

This is all from boomers undertaxing themselves now (in their peak earning years) and leaving the interest payments to Gen-X and beyond.

    Equivalent degeneracy:

    1) Borrow cheap dollars on the house that you think you own and leave it for the next generation to clean up your shit when they discover your Overdosed Body.

    2) Borrow cheap dollars on the country that you think you own and leave it to the next generation to clean up your shit and support you old frail a$$ (if you've survived) with SS because you haven't saved a dime.

My latest advice to Casey on his latest thread, where he is crying about a big mean lender not wanting to settle for 70% of the loan value in a short sale, and instead wanting more like 90%. Note, this is kind of funny because, if the story is to be believed, he's just getting rooked by an "investor" who's going to pocket something like 40% return on the short sale while Casey takes the risk & credit hit and the big mean bank takes it in the shorts.

    Not surprisingly, the bank objects.

I revise my prior advice to seek an attorney. You should seek psychiatric treatment.

That disposed of, I have some direct advice to this subject: Go for 50% LTV. Disintermediate your investor and handle the negotiations yourself. Tell the counterparties that you’re only going to give them $150K, and that you’re being generous. That strategy seems in keeping with the spirit of your approach.

Here's something that pisses me off... people who have "Baby on board" stickers.

    WTF?

Maybe it's a warning to me that you're going to drive in a very distracted manner?

Or be the like the lady who wrote to the Merc about how she had no choice but to buy an SUV because she got rear ended twice in a year, so she needed a safer car. Right... because it wasn't your fault...
