If you love sunny California weather you might want to look to the south somewhat past the fog line. If dreary wet foggy weather won't work for you, you should pass. There is also mold problems in the area from all the wetness. Also the salty sea air rusts cars pretty quick. You can tell a local coastsider by the rust on their car.
