Evidence of companies coping with the new housing market

I live near a huge sod-farm complex, "The Turf Company", near the border of Boise and Meridian, ID. It's hundreds of acres in all. During the housing boom years they did a land-office business selling sod to all the new subdivisions.

Not much sod is being sold these days, for obvious reasons. Last fall they apparently threw in the towel and plowed under hundreds of acres of sod. Recently I drove past, and a new crop is growing on their land: wheat. It's about a foot high now. I guess in today's market there a much better market for wheat than sod.

Anyone else have a story about how companies are changing their product lines in response to the housing bust?
