Gentle Readers,
I found this little nugget on Yahoo News courtesy of Live Science,
"...most [Americans] believe the lack of progress is affecting America's ability to be competitive, with 77 percent saying that the U.S. is losing its competitive edge in science, technology and innovation."

Well no shit. Really? A Gallup pole last year stated that 40% of Americans think Darwin's Theory is correct, 25% do not think it is correct, and 36% have no opinion. So 61% do not recognize evolutionary theory as THE correct understanding of species development through natural selection.

Just what do these shit heads think got us here in the first place? God's Express Bus from Heaven? There are even people who think the earth is 6000 years old. The Sumerians invented glue more than 7500 years ago. These people deny the evidence every time they fill their tanks with gasoline. It's a fossil fuel you turd balls.

We need science and yet when we try to teach it, we get ass-hammered. Apparently a significant section of American children are getting an idiot religious education dispensed from Fucktards who think a Doctorate in Divinity makes them an expert in science teaching and science research. Look, Divinity is a really sweet pecan candy that I shouldn't eat but do anyway.

Now we have a herd of fucknuts like Rick Santorum supporting the teaching of Intelligent Design in our science classes.

Can we have the Space Aliens who are assigned to pick up Alan Greenspan make a few more stops? I want to make a deal with the Aliens. Drop by and get our current POTUS candidates and take them off our hands. They may then "probe" their passengers as much as they please and in any way they wish. That ought to be a fair trade.

We cannot continue with candidates like this. We just can't. We might as well elect Alvin The Chipmunk. I mean I hate to be so "what the fuck" about our current situation, but what the fuck?

Regards,
Roidy
P.S. I am grateful for perverted Space Aliens. What would we do without them?

Not much point in teaching math, science, and engineering to kids if all the jobs are outsourced to China and India. Kids are not dumb. They do look at career viability when choosing majors. There's no shortage of people getting MBAs, law degrees, MDs and other fields in which job security and income are high.

Want America to compete in the 21st century? Want kids to be knowledgeable in science and engineering? Then make sure America has a high tech industry instead of giving it away to anyplace with slave labor. If there isn't demand for high tech workers, there won't be a supply. And it takes a good 20-30 years to build up a high tech work force.

I agree.

The Parameters are too well defined, to the point it stifles creativity. Research has grown lazy, innovation has been replaced with copying or reinventing what has already been done.
If the Variables are hardware for electronic devices, then that is covered. The factories are in other countries.
Let's not kid our selves the Scientists aren't Victims them selves. They wont touch a test tube, if some huge grant isn't subsidizing it. Or they work for the R&D department of some major corporation. Or if they have beneficial technology it's not exactly open source. There's patents, jealous intellectual rights involved until they get paid.

There's not any Thoma Edison, Laurence Hammond, Albert Einstein, Ted Hoff-Gilbert Hyatt, nor could their be today. The rules that define our digital world are to rigidly constructed. To invent an incandescent light bulb, a synchronous motor and fly wheel tone generator to produce the Hammond Organ, patent clerks that turn the scientific community on its head(or a Scientific community Zeal-free enough to listen.) or invent a microprocessor.

Those guys got Ideas and went with it. Now the parameters are defined by the Agenda.

The best we do now is reinvent the Light Bulb, as it were.

Gentle Readers,
Ok, so I guess that we don't even need know the basics of science? Math?

The light bulb is no longer the light bulb. It's now a CFT or LED. Me thinks your points very favorably highlight mine.

It's crappy lighting either way, lets face it.
The whole point of "Next Generation" shit, it's supposed to be fucking better than what it's replacing.

I didn't say that. I said there's a serious lack of initiative.

Where do you get 61% from? 36% had no opinion, which means they don't care one way or the other.

If you compare this to other Countries, the numbers really are not that bad. Although the majority of adults surveyed in India (77%), China (72%), Mexico (65%), the United Kingdom (62%), Spain (61%), and Argentina (57%) accepted the theory of evolution as scientifically founded, only 48% did so in Russia, 42% in South Africa, and 25% in Egypt.

In short this isn't an American's are dumb issue, it's worldwide.

Also the Gallup poll you mentioned, finds that more people of a higher education level believed in the theory. Also those younger and didn't attend Church as often the percentages were higher.

You will also have to note it's just a theory, while I don't believe the in the whole God created the earth in 6 days crap, Darwin's Theory could very well be replaced by another better theory in the future.

It was a widely accepted theory that the dinosaurs died out from Climate changes they couldn't adapt to. World wide drought was one of those mentioned. It wasn't until later that the discovery on a giant meter impact near Mexico that a new theory was presented, the Asteroid Theory is now the most widely accepted theory to explain the dinosaur's extinction.

The same could happen to Darwin's theory, new discoveries could alter our views on the natural selection process.

Back in the 1970s, quantum physicists proved that the observor of reality influences the reality. There is no way around this, to remove the observor from the witnessed event.

This falls in line 100% with shamanistic practices dating back more than 10,000 years. This also includes much of Eastern philosophy.

Aboriginal Dreamtime (60,000 year-old religion still in existence) states that this reality is a dream. Vedic civilization said the same thing, as does advanced yoga of today. The practice of perfecting the third eye is the practice of recognizing the nature of the dream and being able to influence it, accordingly.

In other words, history does not really give a shit about Darwin or Christianity. Most of history goes way back beyond these superficial belief systems.

Accordingly, all belief systems are "real" since they all may be dreamed, equally. This is the greater reality.

It serves Hegelian-humping Fabian socialists well to get people to argue over the mundane, so that the Fabian solution may be implemented. A one-world Gaya religion awaits in the future. This will be their bullshit gift to mankind.

Gentle Reader,
No, I'm afraid you are giving them too much credit. What this means is they are too stupid to know. These idiotic Fucktards wouldn't understand that Evolutionary Theory is correct no matter how simply it is explained. They have about 1.4 kg of liquefied baby shit substituted for their gray matter.

It really isn't a matter of opinion, either. Like the Theory of Electromagnetic Radiation or Quantum Theory of Matter, Evolutionary Theory is not an opinion. It is, instead, a theory that fits the facts of evolution. Most misunderstand that point.

No, we need science education.

They don't call them the "Darwin Awards" for nothing you know.

Roidy
P.S. Er, how many of these mutual dick-amputation extravaganzas they call the "Republican Presidential Candidate Debates" must we endure? Don't they understand that we are goners no matter what we do or whom we elect? That we should have done something about this when we had the chance? Like in 2000? Remember 'W'? He didn't like balanced budgets. I don't remember these people objecting to those tax cuts. Instead, we went to Iraq. It wasn't for a vacation, either. Notice that 'W' is not mentioned by ANYONE including 'O'. Get it?

Correction: It's correct only because you believe 100% that it is correct, and for no other reason. The truth of the matter is that you may believe in any created belief system, and as long as you believe in it 100%, it will be reality for you.

Gentle Reader,
Exactly. Like I believe that 2 + 2 = 4. That is correct.

Perceptual freedom is more powerful than a lifetime subscription to one way. Anything and its opposite may be proven without any doubt. The rational mind is very limiting, this way. Being able to manipulate people and feed off them like a parasite on a host relies on getting them to believe there is only one way.

This is not to say that archetypal elements do not exist within the fractal of time/space. Fibonacci ratios are a good example of this. The duality of light vs. dark is also a good example. However, even these are a choice. You should study Zen, shamanism, or quantum physics sometime. The world is your oyster.

Gentle Readers,
I have studied:
1) Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance
2) Quantum Physics by Sakarai
3) Electrodynamics by J.D. Jackson
and some other stuff.

Then experientially apply what you learned, because the realization isn't showing its face.

Gentle Readers,
Not hiring? ...and here I was developing a system to make ground breaking advances in the area of drive-through window sales, marketing, and technology. I am currently developing a drive through microphone/speaker that makes the customer think that the order is always correct. BK could charge every drive-through customer an extra, nonexistent burger, and quarterly corporate profits would soar. The philosophy behind these innovations in the free market is akin to the "hurricane relief and rebuilding effect." See, a hurricane strikes New Orleans say, (my home town), the local economy will post incredible gains due to the rebuilding effort. Well, why not build-in the hurricane effect? My next project WOULD HAVE BEEN to charge every Wall Mart customer for a can of soup that they don't and can't receive.

Genius just isn't appreciated anymore. Now I'm as screwed as that sign is.

Regards,
Roidy
P.S. I was reading this morning about the asshats who work on Wall Street. Apparently it's "just no fun any more" for them. I've had jobs that I loved and despised. I've never had 'fun' at work. In the end, it's work. Who would have thought?!? We need to provide relief for these poor, abused gazillionaires. Oh, the humanity! Let's get them a "stand up" act for their lunch period. That ought to stop that ole pouty face.
