"Fox News contributor punched in face at pro-union protests in Michigan"

Read more: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/12/11/fox-news-contributor-punched-in-face-at-pro-union-protests-in-michigan/#ixzz2EuegGvLd

Notice at 1:20 on the video, a guy gets up off the ground (what happened ? why is he getting up off the ground - why was he on the ground?), and then throws the punches at the Fox instigator, ie the title of the story.

In the interview with Hannity, nothing is mentioned of what precipitated the punches, that is specifically, why the guy is getting up off the ground before throwing the punches on camera.

Do Americans even know propaganda when they see it?

I guess it really doesn't matter when a bunch of Shrek and FortWayne types are the happy consumers of this bs.

And yes, this thread is the result of being deleted from Shrek's thread for calling him on what total BS this story is.

Note: I'm still pretty sure that Shrek is actually a liberal instigator who hates conservatives so much that he trolls with this charater Shrek aka Melekman, to make conservatives look like dirtbags.

2   Peter P   2012 Dec 12, 3:10pm

But there are really no absolute facts. You just pick your own propaganda.

3   marcus   2012 Dec 12, 3:21pm

Yes the trend is away from using facts to form opinions, which tells you a lot about where we are headed as a country. This is not an accident.

Take right to work laws and unions. Where can we even go to get a really thoughtful in depth look at definitions, and the best arguments behind each opposing side ? Do people even understand the degree to which membership IS relatively optional in many public unions in non-right to work states (that is paying a very minimal fee to the union rather than membership dues).

4   marcus   2012 Dec 12, 3:21pm

By the way, a classic tactic by right wingers (used often in other countries) is to hire guys to go to the protest and incite violence and participate in violence as a way to make the protest ineffective.

That is sadly true. But true for both sides.

Like an escalation of non-reason.

We don't have a fairness doctrine anymore, I wish we did. But tell me who is the equivalent of a Bill Moyers on the right, who I can watch to get educated about the right wing point of view ?

It is really up to the individual to decide what is true. (I am an epistemic subjectivist.)

The country is polarized. But you can see it as a dialectic of left and right. It may not be so bad.

The problem is that we get our news with a defined slant. So we don't get to see what actually happened, only the outcome.

9   HEY YOU   2012 Dec 12, 5:40pm

There is a simple solution to your disdain of fox news. Turn the friggin channel. You can sit there happily numbing your brain watching any of the leftist outlets, or better yet, turn off the goddam boob tube and get your fat ass off the couch and do some good in your local community. If more people did that rather than sit in front of the tv for hours on end, rotting their brain, fueling their anger so they can go on the interwebs to complain about the television, id figure the world a better place

Here we are in a democrats 2nd term as prez, with dem senate,,,,and I guess you whiny little bitch ass dems grew tired of blaming everything on Bush, so now its fox news fault that the dems aren't able to help better us working poor shleps lot in life. You're pathetic. Get a clue, and than get a life

But that is always the case. Even history is written by the victors. So news will be written by those who try to be the victors.

Fox should be sanctioned for this.

There may be some examples, but the evidence to support a liberal media bias is entirely anecdotal. The mythical liberal media is the boogeyman--one of the many-- FOX "news" uses in its bedtime stories.

19   121212   2012 Dec 13, 3:36am

examples please of the same level of shamelessness from the other networks?

I not saying there are none, i just saying that you make statements on other peoples thread with little to no information to back it up.

Your subjective experiences are meaningless without the info to back it up.

20   121212   2012 Dec 13, 3:51am

I would like to see the shameless propaganda that competes with Fox!!! Other than maybe that of MSNBC which uses facts and information to rip you foolish republicans a new one night after night.

I doubt that level of bullshit exists on other networks, but please start a thread post, show us.

Bill Kristol even admitted they made the whole thing up. It's called working the refs, and our corporate-owned 1%er journos run scared. God forbid they just come out and say, "both sides are not right. Fox is lying".

A functioning democracy can't have half the country deliberately misinformed about civics, science, business, politics and economics. We require journalism in the public interest.

22   121212   2012 Dec 13, 4:01am

Fortunately the electorate does not watch Fox or vote r'puke

they watched the primaries and debates, the lies we see here day after day and laughed in there faces culminating in Rove shitting himself live on Fox on election day.

Thanks for the memories.

Nope, problem not solved. The dumbassery in this nation is going to kill us as a going concern, and Fox is part of that problem with its bullshit 24/7.

~50% of this country still has their heads irretrievably up their asses.

What's the reality of your link, that corporations LOVE left wing admins?

I guess that's fox news fault? Obama, pelosi et al are as much of corporate whores as you can find, and they are very much left-wing,,,hell, they're the face of the party!

Sorry, dumbassery comes from watching tv, not watching the wrong channel

After you watch an hour of cnn to cleanse yourself from your hour of foxnews, turn of The Learning Channel. For a four hour stint of honey boo boo. Then come back and remind me how its all foxnews and republicans fault

Politics is more complicated than you are apparently capable of comprehending.

My politics line up closely with the Eurosocialist model, but I understand US domestic politics are far, far from that so we can't have nice things like the Germans, Swedes, Danes, Canuck, Ozzie, and Norgie people have.

Do you want the list of how the Republicans and conservatives in general totally fucked up everything 1993-2008?

I have that list you know.

Democrats have been passive actors, mostly along for the ride, their mistakes have been in going along with the conservative program that has destroyed this country.

30   anonymous   2012 Dec 13, 4:49am

Re post 31

No arguments from me there. I hold both parties equally culpable. As well as the citizenry. As to the topic of the thread, your ass is hanging out if you can sit there with a straight face and pretend that foxnews is the problem. I hear (read) of more left wingers that seem to watch foxnews than right wingers.

So back to my original point, turn off the motherfucking tv and get out in your local community and find better use for your time. I don't even have tv anymore. My girl has a tv but no cable. The brainwash box is toxic in and of itself, regardless of if you're watching foxnews or msnbc

31   Bellingham Bill   2012 Dec 13, 4:56am

errc says

I've watched approximately zero hours of TV since 2003.

In my life I only had TV for a couple of years in the 1970s, 1985-1991, 2000-2003.

I have never paid a cable bill, LOL, except back in the 1980s with roommates.

But Fox is indeed the problem, since they are part of the bullshit funnel that is misinforming Americans.

This ranges from the armada of "think tanks" -- AEI, Heritage, Manhattan, Hudson, Cato, Hoover, Discovery, Heartland, etc etc that generate bullshit, the rightwing internet presence that filters it, and the rightwing corporate media that distributes it over cable TV.

Oh, also the rightwing talk radio presence that also plays its role.

The discussion in this country is biased about 90% to the right.

And thus we have this:

you guys need to go back to civics class and understand how bills become law.

Hint: The House is a majoritarian institution. No bill Boehner doesn't want a vote on can come up to a vote, since Jan 5, 2011.

This is why the House has voted to repeal PPACA at least 33 times and precious else.

Either you guys are colossally stupid or just pretending to be, and I don't know which is worse.

35   121212   2012 Dec 13, 5:44am
