"Your positions of authority, your millions of dollars of personal wealth, your public relations consultants, your privilege and your power cannot mask the hollowness of your character. You sent us to fight and die in Iraq after you, Mr. Cheney, dodged the draft in Vietnam, and you, Mr. Bush, went AWOL from your National Guard unit. Your cowardice and selfishness were established decades ago. You were not willing to risk yourselves for our nation but you sent hundreds of thousands of young men and women to be sacrificed in a senseless war with no more thought than it takes to put out the garbage."

I was surprised when they went after Kerry-the guy who actually fought in the war. These two scumbags didn't , but I guess that Mission Accomplished banner made him look like a war hero? It is politics and what you can sell to the public.

AWOL

W was allowed to join the national guard and then leave to work on a political campaign. Calling him AWOL is incorrect, he didn't run away on his own, the issue is more systemic.

Kerry parsed issues into distinctions so fine that only dogs could hear them. He fought in Viet Nam but then turned against the war and some of his fellow veterans felt he had turned against them also. It's similar to Muslims condemning apostates to death, the worst hatred is always reserved for heretics in order to keep the followers in line. Compare Clinton, who thanked a Senator for saving him from the draft and won two terms as President: if you want to be a lover not a fighter, then say it loudly and proudly, but if you join a church and later denounce it then don't expect favors from people who still believe in it.

W and Cheney were campaigning within the Republican patronage network, so they supported increasing military procurement budgets and war all over the world, which won them lavish praise from military PR as noted in the OP.

The guy risked his life, when he could have pulled a Dubya or a Cheney and refused to go to the war zone like the cowards they were. He was disillusioned and like many wondered why so many Americans were dying. Of all the people, he had the right to question-because he risked his life for this country. Why were so many Americans dying ?? He was not a lover, but a fighter who actually saw the futility of it-unlike Dubya the daddy's boy who started wars that he couldn't finish and couldn't even catch the guy who attacked us so brazenly.

But it is politics and he should have fought harder. Anything goes in politics.

Kerry should have fisted these two pieces of shit to death on TV. Any jury would have burst into applause.

And it should have been pay-per-view. I'd pay to see it.

He should have written that Bush was a deserter, because that would be the charge(among others) because of the amount of time "absent" and that it was during a war. How much time he (Bush) supposedly spent doing active duty time is pointless, because of his actions or inactions from a given point in time forward.

Overall he was right, they're all a bunch of shit-bag cowards, or better known as republicans.

The guy risked his life,

Kerry was in Nam for 4 months, before being shipped back home. Hardly a risk of any sort. The guy is worst 10x over, my making false claims from what others told him of so called War Crimes. He took the cowards way out.

Cheney is hated around the world by almost everyone (I have asked people from dozens of countries) . I hope it was worth his increasing his net worth by tens of millions of $ through war and destruction. Well karma is a...

He wasn't floating on a ship miles off shore for those 4 months.

Right, and his three injuries ?

Defenders of John Kerry's war record, who include nine of the ten living crewmen who served under him [23], have charged that organizers of SBVT had close ties to the Bush presidential campaign and that the accusations were false and politically motivated .

REpublicans are sometimes such gullible dimbulbs. Wrong wong is the poster boy for this type.

You are pathetic. A soldier fighting for 4 months in enemy territory faces hardly a risk? So there were no war crimes in Vietnam at all and more Americans should have been maimed and slaughtered to satisfy the bloodlust of our leaders? I suppose next you will claim Sadaam caused 9/11. Don't you ever get tired of bending reality to fit your narrative??

It's a generational thing for the Bush family. Gramps was charged with the trading with the enemy, GHW Bush bailed out on his crew and left them for dead(literally)while using family connections to not only get gravy duty in the Navy, but to whitewash the whole incident, even though his "version" is contrary to 2 eyewitnesses(tailgunners staring at his plane, one about 100' in front of him) and after-action reports.

Prescott Bush and GHW Bush had a long and sordid history of eugenics along with deep connections directly and through cronies to what is today Planned Parenthood(Birth Control League), with Prescott Bush losing his first run at the senate because of those ties.

GW Bush is a 4th generation coward AND traitor.
