GSK has a long history of problems in China, and conducts up to 20 internal audits in the country every year. Last year more than a sixth of the 312 staff it sacked worldwide for breaching policy violations were in China. China accounts for just 3% of GSK's £27bn annual sales.

83% of the violations are out of China....would love for someone to point out where the majority of those violations are.

GSK got fined $3 billion in America for illegally marketing toxic SSRIs for unapproved (off-label) uses. Also they were forced to stop advertising the SSRI Paxil (paroxetine) as "not habit forming" on American TV after overwhelming evidence showed it caused physical dependence.

Known as discontinuation syndrome, which confuses even many MDs

Known as discontinuation syndrome, which confuses even many MDs, some of whom still claim that it is not the same thing as being 'habit forming'. This is from personal experience, as I do not have a source to cite.
