That's just poor taste.
Tastes like a conspiracy. Somebody arranged those sandwiches to look like that.
Seriously, I still think of that day almost every day, and the conspiracy nuts really bother me, but it's good to have a laugh.

That's humor from The Onion. Their sandwiches are the only bad taste coming from Subway.
